Hello and welcome to the COSMOGRAPHIA TEST DRIVE MEME! This is a place where you can get a feel for your character(s) in the game's setting! A couple quick points before we get down to business:

SAMPLE SCENARIOS:

A: By whatever means, you've tumbled through a hole into a cavernous temple. Gems suspended in bubbles float about the ceiling, and a large Heartlike gem looms before you. Touching it, whether out of curiosity or frustration, will give you some basic information, but then again, there's no guarantee you're just going to walk up to a giant weird thing in the middle of a giant weird room and touch it, right? Why not take a look around and see for yourself what kind of place this is? Perhaps you'll run into someone in the same predicament as you, or perhaps you'll run into someone who can help explain why there's a weird rock now affixed to your body?

B: It's Thursday in Waverly Bay, and that can mean only one thing: the weekly Farmer's Market is here again! Stalls not only from farmers on the outskirts of town but from crafty residents with interesting homemade items to sell, and businesses looking to attract the Market's crowd are all here! Are you shopping for a good deal on vegetables for dinner? Or perhaps you're getting a feel for the residents, having recently arrived? Or, perhaps, are you an industrious gem who's looking to set up shop? Either way, you're bound to run into somebody in this bustling, busy place.

C: Uh-oh! Looks like you've run into a monster! Apparently, from what little you've heard, you can shapeshift into things and pull a weapon from your gem, and you have some sort of special power, but maybe you don't know what it is yet, or you're still not used to using it? Guess you're going to have to learn on the job. Don't leave your fellow gems hanging if you see them fighting one of these little guys either! You're going to need each other to take 'em down!

Oh, really now! What is this nonsense?!

[Bob Terwilliger is a hard man to please. Really, he is. He's at least justified in saying that this is a situation that would please absolutely nobody, and he's very clear on letting everybody know this. Especially when he manages to stumble out into the town.]

A...a tourist trap. Oh, how revolting. The great Sideshow Bob, condemned to spend his days in what is the cultural equivalent of a vomited-up New Jersey boardwalk!

[He mumbles under his breath, grumbling to himself.]

They couldn't even give me a villa to make up for it.

[There's a man with oversized feet (and hair) stomping grapes out in the farmer's market, intent on making a very fine wine out of it. He goes about it gracefully, and loudly sings the entire score to the H.M.S. Pinafore, before stomping on a rake that suddenly appears in the barrel of grapes. The rake whacks him in the face, and he loudly grumbles and throws it out.]

Why must my life be cursed like this?!

[There's another new arrival, a man yes, even with that long hair of indeterminate age staring up at the Heart, close enough to touch though he hasn't done so yet. His gem is easy to find, a red triangle on his forehead.

He's studying the Heart with his arms crossed, then he turns to look at the bubbled rocks suspended in air around it. With a thoughtful sound through his nose, he raises a hand and shifts his glasses.]

Interesting.

[His exploration of the town has led him around to the Farmer's Market. He doesn't as yet have any money, but that doesn't mean he can't browse.

He stops at one stall, looks it over, chats with the owner for a little while and then, with a promise to come back, moves on to the next one.]

[ This was interesting. One moment, she was wandering around Hakugyokurou, looking for a certain gardener, when she found a hole. A curious hole. A very curious hole. Did that shrine maiden decide to leave it during one of her incidences? She likely would have heard about it from one of the spirits. Besides, it didn't seem particularly youkai-shaped, and Reimu wasn't the type to leave imprints in someone's wall when she fought. Usually. She did have her moments, after all.

So color her surprised when, upon further inspection, that hole was the perfect size for one such as herself to wander in. It was tempting. Very tempting. Strangely tempting. And without question, Yuyuko wandered inside.

What she found at the end of the rabbit hole was not quite what she expected. What was she looking at, exactly? Tilting her head this way and that, an elegant folded paper fan held at her lips, the silk brocade, cherry blossom-adorned kimono practically glowing in the hearts light.

She might be here a while. ]

[ After a few days of 1) figuring out that this very much was not Gensokyo, 2) Youmu was unfortunately not there (did that mean she would have to do work?), and 3) she was something called a gem and that this afforded her certain powers (including mastery over the door--convenient!), Yuyuko had decided.

It was time to venture out into town. Get a lay of the land, as it were.

Insistent that she still wear the clothes that she came here with, despite the fact that she stuck out like a sore thumb, the former ghost was mystified by the various sights and sounds she saw. She recognized a few things from Rinnosuke's strange curio shop, but most of it was completely foreign to her. It was fun!

But what drew her attention the most was the sudden smell of something. Something delicious. Her feet followed the scent until it led her to the Farmers Market. It was like one of those human villages!

Letting her nose lead her, Yuyuko flitted through the crowds, her geta clicking softly as she walked, until she finally found it--the source of that heavenly smell. ]

Hmm?

[ Aaaaand a Sold Out sign hanging above the stand. But lo, there was someone (see: a poor sap) with some food, and eating it out in the open. Her stomach growling again, she practically hovered over, putting a hand to her cheek dejectedly. She huffed a sigh, a hand still delicately placed on her cheek. ]

My, my, you must be so lucky. That looks delicious.

[ She's not mooching. No, never. But what she is doing is laying it on thick. Pretty lady wants a bite of your food. ]

[ Well, eventually a certain vampire wanders in... only there's a bit of a difference from the Remilia Yuyuko might know. She's a full grown adult.

And yes, she most certainly recognizes Yuyuko and her general 'I know more things than you!' air she has which gets annoying. ]

[So, uh... this sure is a thing that's happening. Bubbles everywhere and gem-encrusted temples are nothing she hasn't encountered before, but that bizarre compulsion to squish herself into a perfectly Aradia-shaped hole was very uncomfortable and not an experience she'd like to repeat. So sue her, she doesn't like forces beyond mortal comprehension messing with her think pan.

Or her basic physiology, for that matter. She can be found examining her reflection in the Heart, poking at a large, deep red pear cut ruby embedded in the middle of her forehead. It feels weird, and she's not totally sure what to make of it. If that wasn't bad enough, she gets the oddest feeling that something like this has happened before, though she can't put her finger on what just yet.

Other things she has not put her fingers on yet: the blood pusher shaped thing. She saw the note attached to it, saying "TOUCH ME", she just hasn't gotten around to actually doing it yet. There's definitely some spooky shit going on here, and while normally she's all about the spooky shit, the sudden lack of her powers has her a little more wary than usual.

[Oh no, is mahnster! Good thing there's a Gem around to fight it off!

... That Gem will have to be you, though. Aradia doesn't do the fighting anymore! I mean, there's also that whole thing where she's still not used to the new powers, but she wouldn't be fighting it anyway. Instead, she is sitting on a nearby fence, sipping a smoothie and watching like the creeper she is. Good luck!]

[ Feferi always likes to be on the move; she's not much for sitting around and doing nothing, and often, her feet take her to the center of the temple, where the Heart is. She doesn't really know why, she just feels drawn in there sometimes, and she doesn't really mind. It's strangely pleasant, comfortable, like being around her lusus.

Today, though, there's another familiar face, and the second she spots that set of curly-cue horns, she forgets everything else that she was or wasn't doing and throws her arms out in surprise. ]

a. the heart of the temple

[ Lev doesn't seem to be particularly alarmed about finding himself in the Temple. He wanders around, running one pale, delicate hand over the walls and the rocky outcrops and occasionally craning his neck to get a better look at a bubbled gem. His other hand rests at his collarbone; his shirt is open and a gem -- livid carnelian -- peeks through. He worries at the edges of the gem, where it fuses with his flesh. The skin there is irritated and bleeding in a few places -- he's been picking at it for some time. A walking stick hangs off the crook of that arm, but he's not making use of it right now -- and so his gait is a little unsteady, a little wavering and drunken.

He stays away from the glowing gem at the centre. He doesn't trust it -- and even though he's convinced this is a particularly vivid dream, brought on by accidentally double-dosing his medication, or failing that, a hallucination brought on by forgetting his medication, some murky part of his brain is insisting it's all too real and too solid to be a phantom of the mind. But he ignores that.

He's trying to stay calm. Panic will only make things worse, he knows that through bitter experience.

Seeing another person enter the Temple, he turns to them with an absent, dreamy smile and waves. ]

Evening. Afternoon? I've kind of, um, lost track of time here. But hello, anyway. Can you tell me what this place is?

b. farmer's market

[ Lev is at a fruit stall, leaning heavily on his walking stick, the fingers of his other hand tapping aimlessly at the surface of a pineapple. He's feeling a little clouded today; thinking is hard. But he's out of food and fruit is easy to eat.

After some more thought, he picks up the pineapple and turns to the nearest passerby. ]

Um. Excuse me? Sorry, um. Sorry to bother you, but I can't seem to figure this out and if I stand here any longer, I'm going to, um, starve. Does this pineapple look ripe to you?

[ He holds up the fruit in question, eyebrows raised quizzically. His long fringe falls to the side, revealing that his forehead bears three glowing eye-spots, arranged in a sort of triangle. They're as bright red as the regular eyes that peer from behind thick glasses. ]

[Akane... is probably not the person you should be asking about food. She's only just recovered from accidentally poofing herself via bitter almond cake. But she squints at the pineapple anyway.]

Maybe we should cut it.

Ichimatsu | Osomatsu-san

[Outwardly, Ichimatsu's arrival in the temple seems pretty quiet. He lands on the hard ground with an unceremonious whump, gets up and looks around with the vaguest expression of confusion, and starts making his way sluggishly through the area in search of an exit.

Internally, it's a whole other story. What the hell is this?? Why is it so gaudy? It's like Karamatsu decorated this place, ugh. Floating gemstones in bubbles? Really? Where the hell are his brothers? Last he knew they were all together before someone pushed him over and he fell down this unexpected hole. What's a place like this even doing underneath the city?? What a pain in the ass...

Ichimatsu looks up as he comes to the large heart gem. Huh. He automatically reaches out to touch it without thinking - and he's certainly not expecting the infodump because he instantly bristles like a spooked cat.

Quite literally, considering the cat ears and tail that suddenly pop into existence, all poofed up and everything.]

What the hell...?

[This Thursday, Ichimatsu is actually making an appearance at the market. It's not for long, though - he makes his way through the crowd to the stall of a local fisherman, makes a purchase through a few short grunts of "that," "yeah," and "thanks," then slips back off into town.

You may come across him shortly afterwards, however, if you're in the right place. The right place being the alley behind the pizza place, where he's crouched by the dumpster, feeding fresh fish to a small mob of stray cats. And actually smiling a little, for once.]

[Karamatsu's entrance was about as graceful as Ichimatsu's was, which is to say not at all. His face still stings from the impact after not managing to land on his feet or anything, but at least he'd been spared of broken ankles or something. But that voice...he'd know that voice anywhere, and when he hears it echoing through the Temple halls, he decides to follow it.

Right away, Karamatsu trots into view, his eyes widening when he spots Ichimatsu near the strange crystal heart that he just left not only a few moments ago.]

Brother! I was wondering where the rest of you had gone!

[THE MAN OF THE HOUR HAS ARRIVED.]

[Well, ahem. That sure was something. Falling through a hole and into the chambers of a massive underground Temple was not part of his schedule, but he'll have to make due. The Heart had already given him the basic information (and it was not a pleasant experience), of world seperation and gems- he'd found his, a fiery agate in an upside-down heart, set in his chest. It was strange, and difficult to adjust, but Grillby would get there in time.

Right now, all he needed was an exit, or at least someplace else than the ruined dirt corridors.]

b; the lighthouse

[Anyone wandering out at night might find an odd source of light at the top of the lighthouse, offset from the actual lantern. It doesn't look like the 'house has been set aflame, since the flickering orange light is solitary and not spreading, but... it's good to make sure, right?]

c; taven or café

[There's a new bartender in the Bay.

Maybe you see him in the Lucky Shameock Tavern, expertly serving drinks or wiping down glasses and clearing tables. Mixing them, pouring them, pushing away those who are underage with a fatherly sternness. Doesn't even bat an eye at the odder-looking gems. I mean, he is made of fire.

Or you catch him working at the NebulEuros Café, taking orders and serving them swiftly, working in the kitchen or clearing tables. Either way, it looks like he's been doing this for years, with lots of experience and training. Well-rounded in the resturaunt works, too. No wonder he got hired so quickly.

Maybe you could catch a conversation with him on break.]

[A child has fallen into the Temple. There's small golden flowers all over then- their upper back, their shoulders, their hair. Everywhere. Or it's more probable that they're growing from them. But that can't be possible, right?

Either way, they stand up shakily. Where... where... last they knew they'd gotten to the top of Mount Ebott with Frisk, and a hole, then... are they back at the Underground? What is this place? Chara lived there, they should know where this is. And yet, there was the giant glowing huhk of pink crystal floating in the middle of the chamber. It was pulsing. Almost like it was alive. Like this entire cavern was the innards of some enormous beast - the mountain. Yeesh, that was a scary thought.

And...

Chara flexed their fingers. Patted their face. Scratched their arms and kicked themselves in the shin, they were solid all right, but those damned flowers were still there. They were attached to their ghost form 'cause Mom had the great idea of burying them under a bunch of flowers whose roots would grow into their corpse. Now, since they were made physical, the flowers were brought along for the ride. That probably isn't healthy, but whatever. They'll deal. But becoming corporeal with no receptacle seemed impossible- maybe as impossible as the red heart gem in their chest, which they'd found by softly punching themselves there.

Looks like the only interesting thing left was the big heart.]

[A lot of people would think that a tween kid wouldn't be suited to fight monsters. But nah, Chara was fine.

At least there was no guilt in killing this one. This thing was mindless, hateful, hurtful. Nothing like Sans or Toriel or, or... or Asriel. Speaking of which, it pretty much looked like a blob of ink lit up from the inside, with arms everywhere and goopy, globby face.

They swept out the knife from their gem, the blade's edge made from a gleaming red crystal, and charged at the beast. Whatever your gem thinks of a child fighting a monster with nothing but a kitchen knife is up to you.]

[It seemed like it would be a nice day, didn't it? Surely, birds were singing and flowers were blooming outside. It would be nice even if it were raining, but Asriel was hoping for sun, because rain would make it difficult to draw outside, you know, and he's got his arms full of paper and crayons that wouldn't hold up in that kind of weather. He's humming a soft tune as he walks into the heart chamber, having taken the long way to the door outside, but when he sees a figure in there, he stops.

When he sees all the golden flowers covering their person, the breath catches in his throat.

When he starts to make out the person underneath all those golden flowers, you can forget it, all that paper and all those crayons have fallen onto the floor, and he's staring with his mouth wide open, uncertainty and disbelief and an intense desire to believe pounding through his being.]

[Okay when the last thing someone does is tell their adopted mother that no, they don't want to stay with her and that's after turning down being an ambassador for monsters and humans. They don't exactly expect to end up somewhere that is very much not the mountain they were just on.

So this kid with short brown hair, a blue and pink(?) striped shirt, and looking very much like someone who had been here before is now just wandering about the heart chamber. Looking at everything but keeping their hands in their pockets.]

[Now this is something they can get into. Killing monsters is something they have had a lot of practice with, and they figured out very quickly how to call their "weapon" from the yellow gem that is embedded in their body. Which is a pretty simple knife, one really wouldn't think it could do much damage.

That is if any other Gems are watching Chara use it? That thought it going to be proven completely wrong, as they manage to take out one of the little buggers and...]

Really? Poof? No blood or dust? Boo. [Of course in their disappointment they're not paying attention to any others that may come after them. Dumb kid.]

[Don't like either of those options? Then maybe you can find Chara just wandering about poking their nose into things they really shouldn't be poking it into. Or hassling folks.]

[It really stinks to find out someone from home had left. Asriel hadn't known how it felt until he went looking for Frisk the other day, and realized that they were nowhere to be found. "They probably went to explore the temple," some said. "They probably went home," said others. None of it was reassuring, and he's been holding in his frustrations all day until he just can't take it anymore.

So hey, he doesn't see anyone else in the Heart Chamber right away, but they're sure to hear him walk inside and kick a stray stone across the floor.]

Stupid Heart...it brings people here and then it takes them away, and...doesn't it have anything better to do?

[ The heart chamber was had seen many things--a number of homeless, bubbled gems, and any number of lost and wandering gems who had found their way here from countless worlds. Although it was hard to say how many managed to find their way here dressed so delicately. What kind of hole had this particular gem fallen out of? Laying there on the floor of this inner sanctum, her skirts looked almost petal-like, spilled on the ground around her.

How far had she fallen, and from where? Her dark eyes staring up at the heart stone suspended in the middle of the room, the horn-like crystal protrusion peeking out from underneath her bangs seemed to glow in the pale gem-produced light. The young woman picked herself up from the floor, still dazed from the fall and disoriented by the alarming fact that this was certainly not the castle.

A normal person might head straight for the heart itself, but Garnet seemed drawn to the smaller gems, suspended in their strange-looking prisons. She reached her hand up toward one, tentatively, curious what might happen when she touched it. ]

[ Garnet had never been to a Farmer's Market before. She was aware that Alexandria and Lindblum had things that were very similar to this, but given her particular position, she was never able to attend herself. But no longer hampered by royal responsibilities, the newly arrived gem--dressed significantly less regally than when she first arrived--danced through the crowds, her excitement and curiosity hard to contain.

Finding her way to a storefront, the young woman looked over the wares being displayed there, before picking up an item. ]

*...Though at the same time, somebody bumbling in and bursting bubbles without realizing precisely what they were doing is troubling in its own right. Hm.*

*Regardless, Velvet floats into view. Though only 54cm high -- about a foot and nine inches -- she makes up most of the difference simply by hovering high enough to stay eye level with the newcomer. Drawing closer, she greets her with a simple, polite curtsey. ...One executed in midair, without immediately visible legs. Hm.*

[ Normally, in a situation like this, a person might panic. Waking up in a strange, new place, with no recollection of how one got there (she remembered seeing a hole in the club room and wandering in...), she would be well within her right to have a minor freak out.

But as Nozomi wandered down the beach, her school blazer tied at her waist, sleeves rolled up and a gem shining brightly on her forehead, she seemed cool as a cucumber. Was she bothered by all of this? Oh, you better believe it. But would she let anyone know it? Never. Not in a million years. ]

[ Tucked away in a corner of the Farmer's Market was a small booth, the table covered in a purple cloth. A few candles lay on the tabletop, and a young woman sat there, smiling at the crowd of passersby.

How she chose her victims queries was hard to say, but as you pass, she calls toward you. ]

You there!

[ She holds up a tarot card in two fingers, turning it toward you. Maybe it has some kind of meaning to you, maybe not. But judging from how she smiles--kindly, but with a glint of mischief in her eyes--it seems to have some meaning to her. ]

The cards say that we were supposed to meet like this.

[Five halts mid-step, turning her head to face the voice that seemed to be calling to her. When her eyes meet Nozomi's, there's a spark of... sort of recognition? Like she senses a kindred spirit in that mischievous glint.]

Oh? A destined meeting?

[The smirk that grows on her lips as she sizes up Nozomi is mostly playful, but with a slight hint of predatory. She's quite cute, isn't she? Pretty face, nice body... yes, Five has decided this girl would be wonderful company.

So she chooses 'approach', and doesn't at all disguise the interest in her eyes when she gives the girl another appreciative looking over.]

[Well, this is something. Of course, he did the basics: sense for traps, look for anywhere he might be able to use to his advantage in the off-chance this was an ambush - but one he sees how vast and open it is, his attention shifts to the bubbled gems.

He looks at them curiously, staying just far away enough that he doesn't risk popping them, non-existent brows furrowed. And that's how you'll find him: just sort of... watching.]

B. Farmer's Market

[Now that he has a basic idea of what's going on, it's a good idea to go out and have a look. And what better way to get an idea of the culture and lifestyle here than by seeing what they have to sell?

Gaara just sort of wanders, perusing stalls from a distance with a somewhat vacantly distant expression. Or... perhaps his face just always looks like that. Either way, a guy that looks like him with a giant gourd on his back isn't easy to miss, even in a crowd.]

[It's a wolf, yes. A wolf with red markings and wing tufts, and a gem in her back between her shoulders. She just sat there, watching this particular stall that happened to be serving pastries with fruit on top. She doesn't need to eat here; she doesn't even need to eat normally, but food was delicious and she didn't want to miss out on any.]

[Unfortunately, she had yet to get currency in this world. The white wolf can only whine.]

[Yet another new arrival in the temple! And this one's... a tad strange. Perhaps a walking, talking fox isn't strange, but how about one with two tails?

At any rate, he seems to have no issue touching the crystal, and even after letting go, it isn't bothering him all that much.]

... Well, at least this place didn't just steal me against my will.

[Despite the fact the hole did appear, just like the vortexes that have taken him in the past.]

[A mole monster's been wreaking havoc, and the two-tailed fox is one of the ones that found it - and is intending to stop it.]

[... The monster's not gonna listen to reason though, and a couple of other gems have pulled out their weapons - he'd heard about weapon pulling, and after a few practice rounds the other day, he decided he would take his chances now.

He pulls out... a wrench from his gem? But he holds it like he's used it as a weapon before, and readies to fight the monster. Will you try talking to him, or begin fighting the monster alongside him, or simply sit at the sidelines and watch?]

[Under the clingy white t-shirt he'd been wearing, it took him an embarrassingly long time to realize that right at the base of his throat, where his collarbones meet, there's a cool, hard smooth triangular stone set into his flesh.

The first time a monster attacks, his fingers itch for his sword. But it's not until his gem starts glowing that he touches it, finds the familiar sensation of the hilt of his sword in his hand, and pulls.

She shouldn't be pawing at the bubbles after what that large pink gem informed her, but she wanted to. It was just so long as she didn't pop the bubbles which she wasn't doing. Instead, she was pushing one around, tail wagging, and bounding after it, aware of the gem between her shoulder blades, but at the same time, not in any hurry to do anything about it.

It was a new world, and while she couldn't feel all of her powers, they were still there. Just... condensed would be that term humans used. Better than them being lost and her kids being forced into constellations again. No, this was fine; and this was fun until the bubble bounced out of her reach. She just moved to rolling around the next lowest bubble with a 'wruf', fur glowing in delight.

Option B

Another day, and what was this here the humans were setting up? The wolf watched as they raised tarps and tables, setting up wares upon flat surfaces, and chairs behind them. Wooden signs and posters with script written upon it informing of this pricing for such items.

It wasn't until the first wafting scent of food came her way did she really decide to go in and track it, black nose quivering and eyes twinkling when she discovered where it was coming from. Amaterasu stood there, watching, and wondering about procuring the same delicious-smelling treat for herself. Or maybe someone would be kind enough to share? She could only hope her eyes would do the trick.

Curious, he looked towards where it bounced from, but other than a few soft sounds and a subtle glow, he couldn't tell if anyone was there or not. Still, he's a kid, and with utmost, ginger care, he rolls the bubble back the way it came.

A: [Virgil looks around the room first, hands dangling at his sides like a person who is clearly awestruck. The gemstones floating, piled down from the ceiling far above, catch his eye more than anything. But the heart-shaped gem calls out for the sake of science and he rests a hand on its surface. He pauses for a second, processing the information. His free hand falls onto the gem resting in the hollow of his throat and he starts. A circle of orange jasper (not that he can see it so well) is now where his characterizing scar once was. What was this? The mute looks more hurriedly around the room for an exit, and jogs out to look for someone who can possibly explain further.]

Gem monsters... these were the accursed beasts he'd sworn to fight! He was a knight!

So why could he not make that odd blue gem embedded in his being WORK!? Was there a magic word? Did he require an artifact?

Nasty once gem creatures like them chasing after others? Not on her watch! Well, no, she didn't wear a watch, but that was what the humans would say. No matter! If she was near, there was no way she would let someone be harmed if she could help. The flame burned from her gem, and a wheel emerged from within the embers as she leapt. She was a large wolf, but he was a small human; jumping over his head was not difficult.

And then the reflector came smashing down on the gem monster. It stumbled away, dazed and trying to recollect itself while she stood in its path and growled, tail swirling.

[In retrospect, Alva couldn't be sure why she went through that hole to begin with. The University Headmaster's office had been right next to it, where he was waiting for her - where all the University's higher ups had been waiting so she could prove herself. She was lucky she was getting a chance at all. Still, the hole had called to her, and she'd left her papers and carpet bag behind, for they couldn't fit in there with her, and now she stood in the belly of some cavern. It was like a mountain peek she had been to, once, where glowing stones, like lichen, grew to light the darkness, but here all the stones floated in spheres. She pushes her way through cautiously, noticing the give of each sphere as she touches it, until she comes upon the large, heartlike gem in the center of the room.

Reflected in it, she notices something new set in the center of her forehead, and she reaches up to touch it.]

[An outdoor market. A market near the sea, so near that you could hear the waves crashing against the surf. A market full of new, kindly-faced people.

Alva couldn't help herself from throwing herself into the thick of it, inspecting the wares on every table with unabashed curiosity. Presently, she's found a table covered in old books, bearing titles and topics completely foreign to her, and if you pass by you might just hear her haggling with the stall owner:]

[While Mr. Goodman is sure that an office would be relatively easy to acquire, if not through the Temple, then surely the local landowners here would be willing to fork up a small oceanside front for one of those newfangled Crystal Gems. But even so, operating a booth in such an open event is just good business sense.

Thus, there's a pretty loud and obnoxiously tacky booth featuring both a large image of Saul (the same you might have recognized popping up on park benches across town), but the infamous lawyer himself is sitting behind the booth with a cheesy smirk on his face. He's wearing a pair of gloves to cover up his own gem - for the gem-insensitive amongst us, and drinks from a smoothie placed in front of him.

Your eyes might be drawn to the obnoxious signage on the front of the booth: 'Free Legal Consultations!' 'Were you and your family affected by the recent parasites? Find out your options here!' 'Gem Jerks damage your property? Let's see what we can do about it!']

Harley was hesitant to approach the booth because she'd had her fair share of good and bad experiences with lawyers. Some who were willing to get her out of tight fixes, but most who were willing to squeeze her for every penny.

This guy smelled distinctly like that latter.

But on the upside...she didn't exactly have much for him to take.

She opted to make her approach in her "Professonal" form shapeshifting her color pallet to human flesh tones and blond hair, pinning it up into a bun as well as shifting her clothes into a professional looking skirt and blouse. Once she was ready she made her entrance into sight peering at him curiously over her glasses until she was in front of his booth.]

Well I admire your enthusiasm. I think this is the first time I've seen a both like this set up at a Farmer's Market.

[When Clef crawls out of the hole, the first thing he does is check that his hat is there. Sure enough, a wide-brimmed black hat is sat atop his head. He re-adjusts it over his forehead, enough to shade his eyes, before taking account of his surroundings. Years of experience tells him not to touch anything, and so he doesn't, but he does a sort of spin in the center of the chamber.]

Ho-ly shit. Where the hell's a pen when you need one?

[There's a reason Clef didn't like to go anywhere without his shotgun, and this is one of them. Fortunately, being part of the Foundation for so long taught him to be ready for anything when it comes to breaches, and well... this comes close. He maintains distance, keeps his hands out to ward off the creature - which is when the Christian cut amber on his palm starts to glow.

He pulls back again and pulls, and just as the monster jumps at him, it gets a mouth full of buckshot that makes it disappear in a poof.

He pauses to observe the space where it had been for a moment before slinging the shotgun that he'd summoned from his gem up to rest on his shoulder.]

Curiously enough, the only thing that went through the mind of the dog as it fell was "oh no, not again". Many people have speculated that if we knew exactly why the dog had thought that we would know a lot more about the nature of the Universe than we do now.

Though after the dog finally meets the ground, that one thought the dog has is repeated out loud, in a weary, confused tone:]

[The Farmer's Market! A Waverly Bay fixture! Because a lot of residents usually don't pay much attention to the bright red and white dog going around snatching the occasional fresh fruit or veggie off of a stall. Best case, they actively encourage it. It's the canine equivalent of trawling a supermarket for samples.

Though considering his size, Mystery is likely to be lost underfoot, or accidentally stepped on, or run into. This could easily land him into trouble, if the "sampling" doesn't.]

She stopped pulling and stepped back from the hole, shoulders shrugging as her folded ear stood up again. Well, this was a thing. Seeing a hole, deciding she would fit inside it on instinct, all of that had been working out until she got... ah, where ever she was. There were bubbles, and gems, and gems inside bubbles, but that was all she could see. She must've turned herself just a little bit too soon, expecting the hole to let her go, but no.

"We're really falling apart..." And that just didn't make sense to Nadia either. Head stuck in this damn hole, her body standing there and scratching at her neck, her cheeks puffed as she huffed. She knew how easy it was to detach herself, but this was ridiculous. "Just hafta pull ourselves together...!"

Ears flicking, they pushed and pushed until finally, it came undone. She closed her eyes as she rolled, grinning widely as her claws caught herself. "Round of a-paws-e fur everyone!"

Now for curiosity to show this cat where she was as she put her head back on, completely unaware of the red gem showing on her stomach.

Claws behind her back and nose twisting, Nadia's mouth curled as she had a look around the Farmer's Market. She doubted any of the food could compare to Yu Wan's restaurant and his Dim Sum, but a cat's gotta figure out the going on and local foods if she's gonna stay fit.

"Oh, what's that?"

She stepped closer to the booth to have a good look. Owned by another gem perhaps? Or owned by a local? Either way, they probably don't approve of paws on their products even if she might be buying.

There's your usual trademark newcomer confusion, though this time it seems a little different than the standard fare. That's because Chihiro had entered the hole assuming it might go to another part of the school (or, ideally, a way out of it) but a cave is hardly something you could find inside a school (maybe... under it?) especially one that looked like this. And what even was that rock? Some kind of power source? And the other ones...?

Hands clasped at the chest timidly, Chihiro stands there for a moment taking it all in, before idly glancing behind-- oh fuck, the hole's gone.

OK. RIGHT. RUSHING OVER THE WALL NOW AND LOOKING FOR IT IN A PANIC.]

The last thing he remembered was that weird hole he had found half buried in the snow. And now he was staring up at...rocks? Jaune closed and opened his eyes slowly, finally coming to the conclusion that he really probably shouldn't lay there all day -- even if everything hurt.

So he sat up, rubbing his neck. He wondered if he had fallen far from the opening. If he shouted would Ruby or the others hear him? Jaune looked up but saw no sign of an opening in the ceiling where a Jaune-shaped hole should be.]

Great.

[It figured his day would go about this well. They'd probably never let him live this one down. Another epic fail he could add to the list.]

[Right, because Jaune hadn't even completely figured out aura or semblances yet and now he was supposed to know how to do impossible things like shapeshift or summon a weapon he wasn't even entirely sure was there? Jaune laughs nervously, holding up his hands placatingly and hoping maybe these things are more reasonable than grimm.]

Nice rock monster. You don't want to eat me...I'm---AAAHH!

[Jaune dodged to the left as the small, green thing lunged at his face, rolling and popping back up with ease. It could jump pretty high for a thing with small legs. Maybe it was the number of legs that helped it. Whatever the case, Jaune may not have a weapon but he was still fairly quick and could probably keep from getting bitten...for now anyway. Jaune's eyes immediately flicked right and left to locate the monster. He was probably going to need some help.]

[Since her return to Waverly Bay, Pyrrha had stopped coming by the Heart Room to check for newcomers. She knew she probably should in order to help them, but...she'd mostly been keeping to herself these days. She still went to her jobs and interacted with the people she encountered, but she found she preferred solitude more often than not.

And she couldn't help but sigh a little as she realized that. Her experiences have changed her a bit more than she wished it had.

She was making an effort to reach out to others again, though. It was taking a bit of time, and she was still hesitant about getting too close to others, in case they found out, like Yang did, what had happened to her. But she was trying. And after fighting gem monsters, delivering the bubbled gem to the temple at least gave her an excuse to drop by the Heart room.

But she had barely taken two steps into the chamber, gem floating in its bubble in her palm, when she froze, her eyes widening as her heart drops into her stomach.
