TEST DRIVE MEME
Hello and welcome to the COSMOGRAPHIA TEST DRIVE MEME! This is a place where you can get a feel for your character(s) in the game's setting! A couple quick points before we get down to business:
☆ Please take a look at our Premise, World Information, and our FAQ to get a feel for the rules and setting. This is great if you want to see what the game is about before jumping in!
☆ Test Drive threads are certainly allowed to be used for samples for your application, should you choose to submit one!
SAMPLE SCENARIOS:
A: By whatever means, you've tumbled through a hole into a cavernous temple. Gems suspended in bubbles float about the ceiling, and a large Heartlike gem looms before you. Touching it, whether out of curiosity or frustration, will give you some basic information, but then again, there's no guarantee you're just going to walk up to a giant weird thing in the middle of a giant weird room and touch it, right? Why not take a look around and see for yourself what kind of place this is? Perhaps you'll run into someone in the same predicament as you, or perhaps you'll run into someone who can help explain why there's a weird rock now affixed to your body?
B: It's Thursday in Waverly Bay, and that can mean only one thing: the weekly Farmer's Market is here again! Stalls not only from farmers on the outskirts of town but from crafty residents with interesting homemade items to sell, and businesses looking to attract the Market's crowd are all here! Are you shopping for a good deal on vegetables for dinner? Or perhaps you're getting a feel for the residents, having recently arrived? Or, perhaps, are you an industrious gem who's looking to set up shop? Either way, you're bound to run into somebody in this bustling, busy place.
C: Uh-oh! Looks like you've run into a monster! Apparently, from what little you've heard, you can shapeshift into things and pull a weapon from your gem, and you have some sort of special power, but maybe you don't know what it is yet, or you're still not used to using it? Guess you're going to have to learn on the job. Don't leave your fellow gems hanging if you see them fighting one of these little guys either! You're going to need each other to take 'em down!

Nozomi Tojo | Love Live! | Moonstone
[ Normally, in a situation like this, a person might panic. Waking up in a strange, new place, with no recollection of how one got there (she remembered seeing a hole in the club room and wandering in...), she would be well within her right to have a minor freak out.
But as Nozomi wandered down the beach, her school blazer tied at her waist, sleeves rolled up and a gem shining brightly on her forehead, she seemed cool as a cucumber. Was she bothered by all of this? Oh, you better believe it. But would she let anyone know it? Never. Not in a million years. ]
[B]
[ Tucked away in a corner of the Farmer's Market was a small booth, the table covered in a purple cloth. A few candles lay on the tabletop, and a young woman sat there, smiling at the crowd of passersby.
How she chose her
victimsqueries was hard to say, but as you pass, she calls toward you. ]You there!
[ She holds up a tarot card in two fingers, turning it toward you. Maybe it has some kind of meaning to you, maybe not. But judging from how she smiles--kindly, but with a glint of mischief in her eyes--it seems to have some meaning to her. ]
The cards say that we were supposed to meet like this.
[ Do you approach? Or keep walking? ]
[C]
[ Wild card! Come up with your own prompt! ]
B
Oh? A destined meeting?
[The smirk that grows on her lips as she sizes up Nozomi is mostly playful, but with a slight hint of predatory. She's quite cute, isn't she? Pretty face, nice body... yes, Five has decided this girl would be wonderful company.
So she chooses 'approach', and doesn't at all disguise the interest in her eyes when she gives the girl another appreciative looking over.]
How could I possibly refuse?
no subject
Or maybe Nozomi just enjoyed picking on blondes.Regardless of the reason, the teen's smile grew as Five closed in toward her booth. A second stool sat on the other side of the table, inviting the older woman to sit.Fate always had a funny way of pulling unlikely characters together; Nozomi was curious just how this "destined meeting" would play out. ]
Have you ever had a reading done before, miss?
[ Putting the card back into her deck, she gestured for Five to sit. ]
A
Hmm, I've not seen you around her before... Are you new?
no subject
New?
[ Nozomi blinked a few times, tilting her head curiously. ]
no subject
[ They're even moving a little on their own. Now isn't that interesting? ]
And it's hard to miss that gem of yours. Moonstone, is it?
no subject
A smile curled her lips slightly. ]
That's right. I just got here.
[ "Moonstone"? Was that was she was, maybe? She could feel the strange protrusion on her forehead, but hadn't had a chance to really see it. Nozomi gave her an apologetic smile. ]
I'll have to take your word for it, I guess.

Or find a mirror, perhaps.
I am Remilia Scarlet... and a bloodstone.

But. She misses her friends. She misses μ's. She's not going to sulk about it -- because goodness, would Umi have her head if she got here and found out -- but she does wish with all her heart that she'd see them here soon.
She's coming back from her morning run, pleasantly exhausted and swigging from a chilled bottle of water when her eyes settle on Nozomi coming back up the beach towards her and she promptly chokes and sprays her water everywhere. She splutters and chokes just for a second and manages to screw the cap back onto her bottle before she squints her eyes to slits, trying to make sure that yes, that's definitely Nozomi.
Her face changes so dramatically it's almost comical. Her eyes widen and practically sparkle and her smile goes ear to ear. Honoka takes in a huge breath, filling her lungs and then she puts her free hand to her mouth and bellows. ]
NOZOMI-CHAN!
[ and before Nozomi even has a chance to answer, she goes rocketing up the beach to meet her, arms thrown out to toss around the older girl as soon as she gets close enough ]
no subject
Honoka-chan?
[ Her voice was soft, and had the younger girl not practically catapulted herself at full speed toward Nozomi, she might not have been able to distinguish her from the others walking on the boardwalk. Better brace for impact, because here comes the Honk. ]
no subject
And of course, she's bubbling over with excitement the whole time, chattering away at top speed. ]
You're here! You're really really here! I've been here for so long and so many other people've started to show up I started thinking, "hey, I'm not gonna be stuck here on my own, am I?", so I kept leaving offerings for Heart-san [ HONOKA HAVE YOU BEEN PRAYING TO THE HEART ] and it finally worked so--
[ and then she finally pauses for a breath. good lord. ]
no subject
You really need to warn her first, before doing that.
As Honoka began yammering on at a mile a minute, Nozomi had a hard time keeping up. She picked up a few things--wait, you did what for the heart?--before letting the over-reactive girl go and giving her a somewhat tired smile. ]
Okay, okay, slow down a little bit. One thing at a time. You said that we're the only ones here? What about Umi-chan and the others?
[
You know, her keeper.]no subject
[ clearly, right now is the time for puns ]
New people turn up a lot, though! So maybe if we're really lucky and we keep leaving nice offerings for Heart-san, we'll get lucky!

The golden blooms are thick on their shoulders and trail down their upper back. They're dappled in their hair, fall across their eyes.
When some calls out in their direction, they turn and see. It probably wasn't at them- who'd want someone like Chara?- but lo and behold, she's looking right at them. She's a weirdo, but an interesting weirdo with tarot cards.]
... Clairvoyant?
B
Something like that.
[ Nozomi smiles, her head tilted slightly. She gestures toward the empty stool on the other side of the table. ]
Re: B
B
So, what do you want to know?
[[OOC: Before we go any further, I need you to refer to this post]]

B
Cards?
[...He's intrigued. He moves to approach, arms crossed over his chest casually.]
What do you mean?
B
[ Turning the card, she reveals its face to him. ]
Some people believe that they can tell you the future, or reveal someone's deepest secrets.
no subject
[Huh. Cards telling the future? That seems a little farfetched but...]
I'm interested.
no subject
[ Usually she would charge for this sort of thing, but Nozomi was feeling particularly charitable. ]

B /just assumes a card for this
Hm? [She turns to face her.]
...The Wheel of Fortune? I guess I did just arrive rather recently.
B
[ What did she mean by that? ]
no subject
[Not exactly the tone of someone who believes at this point. Yet.]
no subject
Curious?
