Hello and welcome to the COSMOGRAPHIA TEST DRIVE MEME! This is a place where you can get a feel for your character(s) in the game's setting! A couple quick points before we get down to business:

☆ Please take a look at our Premise, World Information, and our FAQ to get a feel for the rules and setting. This is great if you want to see what the game is about before jumping in!

☆ Test Drive threads are certainly allowed to be used for samples for your application, should you choose to submit one!

SAMPLE SCENARIOS:

A: By whatever means, you've tumbled through a hole into a cavernous temple. Gems suspended in bubbles float about the ceiling, and a large Heartlike gem looms before you. Touching it, whether out of curiosity or frustration, will give you some basic information, but then again, there's no guarantee you're just going to walk up to a giant weird thing in the middle of a giant weird room and touch it, right? Why not take a look around and see for yourself what kind of place this is? Perhaps you'll run into someone in the same predicament as you, or perhaps you'll run into someone who can help explain why there's a weird rock now affixed to your body?

B: It's Thursday in Waverly Bay, and that can mean only one thing: the weekly Farmer's Market is here again! Stalls not only from farmers on the outskirts of town but from crafty residents with interesting homemade items to sell, and businesses looking to attract the Market's crowd are all here! Are you shopping for a good deal on vegetables for dinner? Or perhaps you're getting a feel for the residents, having recently arrived? Or, perhaps, are you an industrious gem who's looking to set up shop? Either way, you're bound to run into somebody in this bustling, busy place.

C: Uh-oh! Looks like you've run into a monster! Apparently, from what little you've heard, you can shapeshift into things and pull a weapon from your gem, and you have some sort of special power, but maybe you don't know what it is yet, or you're still not used to using it? Guess you're going to have to learn on the job. Don't leave your fellow gems hanging if you see them fighting one of these little guys either! You're going to need each other to take 'em down!

[ What an interesting costume. It looked a bit like something that Nicocchi might wear. The bat wings were a cute touch. ] New? [ Nozomi blinked a few times, tilting her head curiously. ]

Why, as in a new arrival, of course.

[ They're even moving a little on their own. Now isn't that interesting? ]

And it's hard to miss that gem of yours. Moonstone, is it?

[ Hmm, that strange heart at the center of the "temple" said something about people arriving from different places. So this person was like her, then? Nozomi was still sorting out the gem business in her head--the thought of a person no longer being a person in the conventional sense, but some kind of stone, was strange to her--but she could parse enough to at least follow Remilia's line of reasoning. A smile curled her lips slightly. ] That's right. I just got here. [ "Moonstone"? Was that was she was, maybe? She could feel the strange protrusion on her forehead, but hadn't had a chance to really see it. Nozomi gave her an apologetic smile. ] I'll have to take your word for it, I guess.

[ As it was becoming something of a point of pride, the ex-vampire had begun to wear things that show off her gem a little. A bloodstone. ]

Or find a mirror, perhaps.

I am Remilia Scarlet... and a bloodstone.

[ Bloodstone? Did she identify as a stone? That did line up with what she heard from the strange heart, but at the same time, it felt odd. ]

I'm Nozomi Tojo, it's nice to meet you. Can I ask you something?

[ Not as much, but it feels like she's had it forever... ]

Remilia-chan, right? You said you're a bloodstone? You mean you have a bloodstone, right?

[ It's a seemingly subtle distinction, but is much more meaningful. It would also confirm a few suspicions she had--that she didn't necessarily want to tackle at the moment, all told. Things were already weird enough as is. ]

As far as I can tell... We are our gems, like the heart gem showed us. Get your gem shattered, and you'll die.

I wasn't happy with suddenly being a different species myself, believe me. It took all of my vampire powers! Hmph.

[ Sorry Nozo, but you're not quite human any more. ]

[ Yep, that was what she figured. It was... It was a lot to process, and putting a hand to her cheek, the young woman's brow furrowed slightly, creased with worry.

Let's see. She was far away from home; the others were, as far as she could tell, not here; and she was somehow suddenly more mineral than woman. And yes, she heard that comment about formerly being a vampire, but one thing at a time. That was filed under "things to process later." ]

I see...

[ Nozomi did not sound pleased, worry giving way to deep contemplation. The cards did tell her that she was about to take a step toward something new, but this was a bit much! ]

...If you're about to have a nervous breakdown, please don't.

[ Remilia couldn't help but notice that she's gone very quiet, and that makes Remilia a bit concerned that she'll make a scene, and nobody wants that. ]

[ If she were, you'd never know it. You don't have that clearance level, citizen. ] Huh? No, nothing like that. It's just a lot to take in, you know?

[scarlet_devil]

[ Remilia gives her a smile that is bright and confident. Granted, Remilia is from a place where strange things happen quite often. ...Though things usually go back to normal. ]

You'll get used to it... And gain new powers.

[ But shrine maidens don't punch people in the face if they get out of line in her world. ]

New powers? Like what?

[ Nozomi is intrigued. Tell her more, new friend. Maybe she'll become a vampire too? ]

[ And allow Remilia to demonstrate... by shape-shifting her hairstyle into an imitation of Nozomi's. ]

Shapeshifting, for instance...

[ That gets a decent reaction out of the teen. ]

How did you do that?
