TEST DRIVE MEME
Hello and welcome to the COSMOGRAPHIA TEST DRIVE MEME! This is a place where you can get a feel for your character(s) in the game's setting! A couple quick points before we get down to business:
☆ Please take a look at our Premise, World Information, and our FAQ to get a feel for the rules and setting. This is great if you want to see what the game is about before jumping in!
☆ Test Drive threads are certainly allowed to be used for samples for your application, should you choose to submit one!
SAMPLE SCENARIOS:
A: By whatever means, you've tumbled through a hole into a cavernous temple. Gems suspended in bubbles float about the ceiling, and a large Heartlike gem looms before you. Touching it, whether out of curiosity or frustration, will give you some basic information, but then again, there's no guarantee you're just going to walk up to a giant weird thing in the middle of a giant weird room and touch it, right? Why not take a look around and see for yourself what kind of place this is? Perhaps you'll run into someone in the same predicament as you, or perhaps you'll run into someone who can help explain why there's a weird rock now affixed to your body?
B: It's Thursday in Waverly Bay, and that can mean only one thing: the weekly Farmer's Market is here again! Stalls not only from farmers on the outskirts of town but from crafty residents with interesting homemade items to sell, and businesses looking to attract the Market's crowd are all here! Are you shopping for a good deal on vegetables for dinner? Or perhaps you're getting a feel for the residents, having recently arrived? Or, perhaps, are you an industrious gem who's looking to set up shop? Either way, you're bound to run into somebody in this bustling, busy place.
C: Uh-oh! Looks like you've run into a monster! Apparently, from what little you've heard, you can shapeshift into things and pull a weapon from your gem, and you have some sort of special power, but maybe you don't know what it is yet, or you're still not used to using it? Guess you're going to have to learn on the job. Don't leave your fellow gems hanging if you see them fighting one of these little guys either! You're going to need each other to take 'em down!

But. She misses her friends. She misses μ's. She's not going to sulk about it -- because goodness, would Umi have her head if she got here and found out -- but she does wish with all her heart that she'd see them here soon.
She's coming back from her morning run, pleasantly exhausted and swigging from a chilled bottle of water when her eyes settle on Nozomi coming back up the beach towards her and she promptly chokes and sprays her water everywhere. She splutters and chokes just for a second and manages to screw the cap back onto her bottle before she squints her eyes to slits, trying to make sure that yes, that's definitely Nozomi.
Her face changes so dramatically it's almost comical. Her eyes widen and practically sparkle and her smile goes ear to ear. Honoka takes in a huge breath, filling her lungs and then she puts her free hand to her mouth and bellows. ]
NOZOMI-CHAN!
[ and before Nozomi even has a chance to answer, she goes rocketing up the beach to meet her, arms thrown out to toss around the older girl as soon as she gets close enough ]
no subject
Honoka-chan?
[ Her voice was soft, and had the younger girl not practically catapulted herself at full speed toward Nozomi, she might not have been able to distinguish her from the others walking on the boardwalk. Better brace for impact, because here comes the Honk. ]
no subject
And of course, she's bubbling over with excitement the whole time, chattering away at top speed. ]
You're here! You're really really here! I've been here for so long and so many other people've started to show up I started thinking, "hey, I'm not gonna be stuck here on my own, am I?", so I kept leaving offerings for Heart-san [ HONOKA HAVE YOU BEEN PRAYING TO THE HEART ] and it finally worked so--
[ and then she finally pauses for a breath. good lord. ]
no subject
You really need to warn her first, before doing that.
As Honoka began yammering on at a mile a minute, Nozomi had a hard time keeping up. She picked up a few things--wait, you did what for the heart?--before letting the over-reactive girl go and giving her a somewhat tired smile. ]
Okay, okay, slow down a little bit. One thing at a time. You said that we're the only ones here? What about Umi-chan and the others?
[
You know, her keeper.]no subject
[ clearly, right now is the time for puns ]
New people turn up a lot, though! So maybe if we're really lucky and we keep leaving nice offerings for Heart-san, we'll get lucky!
no subject
The joke does get a bit of a smile out of the older girl at least, so mission accomplished?
But something she said... it worried her a little. There were things that the Heart explained, but, judging from the distinct difference in seasons, Nozomi had begun to make some assumptions, none of them good. ]
Say, Honoka-chan, you and Kotori-chan managed to make up, right? How long ago was that? I feel like we've been so busy lately, I can't quite remember.
no subject
[ her brows knit together at that, her smile finally fading a bit and making way for a look of confusion. Asking how long ago it was isn't quite so weird, but asking if it happened at all... ]
Yeah, of course! How could you forget all about that? We finally filled up the auditorium!
[ it was all dramatic and heartwarming geez nozomi!! ]
no subject
And how long ago was that? Can you tell me?
[ The smile on her face was subtly complicated, placid on the outside, but hiding a bubble of fear that was quickly rising. Was this the same Honoka she saw every day at school? Or was she somehow... different? ]
no subject
[ y'know if Honoka was any good at retaining information that didn't relate to μ's then she probably would have a better inkling of just why Nozomi was asking all this but it's been so long since she touched the Heart herself and it was such a rush of information that all but the basics had kind of dropped out of her brain.
But! Nozomi wouldn't be asking a question like this without a reason. She could tease, sure, but Honoka doesn't think she'd go right for that in a situation like this. ]
It was a while ago, I think! Before the student council elections, for sure... so maybe about two months or something like that?
no subject
She was always good at wearing a poker face--perhaps not as good at Eli at times, but certainly skilled enough to keep her emotions at bay where people like Honoka or Rin were involved. But there was real concern, clearly painted on her face. A hand rested on her cheek, the moonstone on her forehead catching the light.
No, no this wasn't right, there was some kind of mistake. There had to be. ]
