Hello and welcome to the COSMOGRAPHIA TEST DRIVE MEME! This is a place where you can get a feel for your character(s) in the game's setting! A couple quick points before we get down to business:

☆ Please take a look at our Premise, World Information, and our FAQ to get a feel for the rules and setting. This is great if you want to see what the game is about before jumping in!

☆ Test Drive threads are certainly allowed to be used for samples for your application, should you choose to submit one!

SAMPLE SCENARIOS:

A: By whatever means, you've tumbled through a hole into a cavernous temple. Gems suspended in bubbles float about the ceiling, and a large Heartlike gem looms before you. Touching it, whether out of curiosity or frustration, will give you some basic information, but then again, there's no guarantee you're just going to walk up to a giant weird thing in the middle of a giant weird room and touch it, right? Why not take a look around and see for yourself what kind of place this is? Perhaps you'll run into someone in the same predicament as you, or perhaps you'll run into someone who can help explain why there's a weird rock now affixed to your body?

B: It's Thursday in Waverly Bay, and that can mean only one thing: the weekly Farmer's Market is here again! Stalls not only from farmers on the outskirts of town but from crafty residents with interesting homemade items to sell, and businesses looking to attract the Market's crowd are all here! Are you shopping for a good deal on vegetables for dinner? Or perhaps you're getting a feel for the residents, having recently arrived? Or, perhaps, are you an industrious gem who's looking to set up shop? Either way, you're bound to run into somebody in this bustling, busy place.

C: Uh-oh! Looks like you've run into a monster! Apparently, from what little you've heard, you can shapeshift into things and pull a weapon from your gem, and you have some sort of special power, but maybe you don't know what it is yet, or you're still not used to using it? Guess you're going to have to learn on the job. Don't leave your fellow gems hanging if you see them fighting one of these little guys either! You're going to need each other to take 'em down!

[Yes, yes, that's correct. If he had asked that and she hadn't nosed that large gem in the middle, she would be very confused.]

[So, maybe she was a new gem, then. Sure, a lot of people kept dogs as pets, but that's not the norm where he's from - dogs are autonomous beings, after all.]

Um, then, howdy! And welcome. I guess you've got a lot of questions, huh?

[But not exactly a way to convey them...]

[Eh, she shakes her head. The Heart told her enough, and she would figure out the rest as she went along. Besides, trying to find a way for her to talk? Way not happening right now unless he had a scroll, and ink.]

[He is unfortunately lacking in those at the moment.]

Oh! That's really good, then. I don't know how you could ask them if you can't talk...

[Giving the best shrug she can... she's gonna trot up to get that gem bubble back and paw it some more. But first, she must sniff the small goat child.]

[Oh please, feel free to sniff. This is a thing dogs do, he knows that.]

Did you wanna play with the bubble some more. We'd have to be real careful not to pop it...

[Yes, they can keep playing with the bubble, but in a moment. Look at these adorable floppy ears, she is just going to snuffle at them with her tail wagging before giving his cheek a lick.]

[He laughs, snout crinkling.]

H-Hey, that tickles!

[Aha! She found his weakness, and now he will not escape her nuzzling and licking him mooore. At least, not until she backs off.]

[Oh my goodness this is so silly. Asriel doesn't flinch or back off, letting the nice dog do as she likes, but he still laughs, flailing uselessly.]

[Okay, okay, after a few seconds, she calms down and pulls back. That tail of hers is still going.]

[He wipes at his face a bit, though that's not going to help much. His fur's going to stick up everywhere and he knows it.]

Golly, you sure are friendly, huh?

[Given her open mouth panting and continuous tail wagging, is she that obvious? She circles around Asriel a few times, but then sits down in front of him as though waiting.]

[Huh? Asriel watches her for a moment, blinking, before he sits across from her.]

...What is it? Do you...hm. Do you want to be pet?

[You won't enlongate your neck like Lesser Dog will you]

[Her neck won't stretch maybe, but her tail does wag faster. Yes, she would love pets.]

[Oh thank goodness, that was always so weird.

Asriel reaches out to give her some good pets, making sure to scratch and rub behind her ears. Dogs like that, right?]

[She absolutely loves the alteration between scratches and rubs especially when focused around the ears. Her tail is never going to stop, and the more he pets, the more she just musses her head around in his hands for more.]

[That's quite alright! Asriel likes giving attention to someone so happy to receive it. He scritches behind the ears, pets along the sides of her face...it's like he's enjoying it, too, or perhaps being able to do it to a dog while he has paws and not leaf stubs.]

[Ugh, he's so cute. Her face mushes at the pets along her face, and she has to lick him again. Today - even if she was brought to a new world - is a good day!]

[More licking?!?! Oh golly!]

[With a wide grin, it looks like she's finally done. He'll just get a playful nuzzle.]

[Aaaah how nice! Before he can really stop himself, Asriel throws his arms around the dog, hugging her gently.]

[And she sits, accepting the hug with a grin. Ah, as much as she wants to stay, they should probably move on. Maybe he could show her around some more... before she rolls the bubble again?]

[Hm, yeah, letting her see this place will probably help, huh?] Did you want to see more of the temple? Or the town, maybe?
