TEST DRIVE MEME

Hello and welcome to the COSMOGRAPHIA TEST DRIVE MEME! This is a place where you can get a feel for your character(s) in the game's setting! A couple quick points before we get down to business:

☆ Please take a look at our Premise, World Information, and our FAQ to get a feel for the rules and setting. This is great if you want to see what the game is about before jumping in!

☆ Test Drive threads are certainly allowed to be used for samples for your application, should you choose to submit one!

SAMPLE SCENARIOS:

A: By whatever means, you've tumbled through a hole into a cavernous temple. Gems suspended in bubbles float about the ceiling, and a large Heartlike gem looms before you. Touching it, whether out of curiosity or frustration, will give you some basic information, but then again, there's no guarantee you're just going to walk up to a giant weird thing in the middle of a giant weird room and touch it, right? Why not take a look around and see for yourself what kind of place this is? Perhaps you'll run into someone in the same predicament as you, or perhaps you'll run into someone who can help explain why there's a weird rock now affixed to your body?

B: It's Thursday in Waverly Bay, and that can mean only one thing: the weekly Farmer's Market is here again! Stalls not only from farmers on the outskirts of town but from crafty residents with interesting homemade items to sell, and businesses looking to attract the Market's crowd are all here! Are you shopping for a good deal on vegetables for dinner? Or perhaps you're getting a feel for the residents, having recently arrived? Or, perhaps, are you an industrious gem who's looking to set up shop? Either way, you're bound to run into somebody in this bustling, busy place.

C: Uh-oh! Looks like you've run into a monster! Apparently, from what little you've heard, you can shapeshift into things and pull a weapon from your gem, and you have some sort of special power, but maybe you don't know what it is yet, or you're still not used to using it? Guess you're going to have to learn on the job. Don't leave your fellow gems hanging if you see them fighting one of these little guys either! You're going to need each other to take 'em down!

Option A

She shouldn't be pawing at the bubbles after what that large pink gem informed her, but she wanted to. It was just so long as she didn't pop the bubbles which she wasn't doing. Instead, she was pushing one around, tail wagging, and bounding after it, aware of the gem between her shoulder blades, but at the same time, not in any hurry to do anything about it.

It was a new world, and while she couldn't feel all of her powers, they were still there. Just... condensed would be that term humans used. Better than them being lost and her kids being forced into constellations again. No, this was fine; and this was fun until the bubble bounced out of her reach. She just moved to rolling around the next lowest bubble with a 'wruf', fur glowing in delight.

Option B

Another day, and what was this here the humans were setting up? The wolf watched as they raised tarps and tables, setting up wares upon flat surfaces, and chairs behind them. Wooden signs and posters with script written upon it informing of this pricing for such items.

It wasn't until the first wafting scent of food came her way did she really decide to go in and track it, black nose quivering and eyes twinkling when she discovered where it was coming from. Amaterasu stood there, watching, and wondering about procuring the same delicious-smelling treat for herself. Or maybe someone would be kind enough to share? She could only hope her eyes would do the trick.

[The bounced bubble caught Asriel's attention as he was walking in the temple today. Curious, he looked towards where it bounced from, but other than a few soft sounds and a subtle glow, he couldn't tell if anyone was there or not. Still, he's a kid, and with utmost, ginger care, he rolls the bubble back the way it came.

Go home, little bubble, go home~]

[Well, well, the bubble came rolling back. That was a first... and she wondered if it would happen again. Pawing at it again, it was soon rolling back the direction it returned from. Be freee~]

[...Huh? It was coming back again?

Asriel rolls it back, stepping a bit closer.]

Hmm...

[Oho! It has returned yet again! So she's going to roll it back and follow.]

[It's coming back again! Asriel goes to meet it...]

[Ready for it to come back, she pauses when she realizes there's someone else there. It looks like a small oni child.]

[He's pretty harmless as far as things go, and he looks up and finally sees the other person here.

Or, well, the dog. The big, fluffy, nice looking dog.]

Oh...howdy!

[Oh, so that's how the gem was rolling back. That makes more sense.]

[And at the howdy, her tail wags.]

Wruf!

[Aah, it's even a white dog! Like so many dogs back in the Underground. Golly it looks fluffy.]

Where did you come from?

[That is a question, and she doesn't know how to answer. Being unable to talk sometimes is unfortunate. Still, she looks at the bubbled gem, and then looks back at the door that leads to the Heart.]

...

[Huh. Can't talk, I guess. Well, no one ever said all dogs were the same. Asriel follows her gaze, brow furrowed as he tries to think of something that would make sense.]

You came...from the temple?

Ruf!

[Yes, yes, that's correct. If he had asked that and she hadn't nosed that large gem in the middle, she would be very confused.]

Oh!

[So, maybe she was a new gem, then. Sure, a lot of people kept dogs as pets, but that's not the norm where he's from - dogs are autonomous beings, after all.]

Um, then, howdy! And welcome. I guess you've got a lot of questions, huh?

[But not exactly a way to convey them...]

[Eh, she shakes her head. The Heart told her enough, and she would figure out the rest as she went along. Besides, trying to find a way for her to talk? Way not happening right now unless he had a scroll, and ink.]

[He is unfortunately lacking in those at the moment.]

Oh! That's really good, then. I don't know how you could ask them if you can't talk...

[Giving the best shrug she can... she's gonna trot up to get that gem bubble back and paw it some more. But first, she must sniff the small goat child.]

[Oh please, feel free to sniff. This is a thing dogs do, he knows that.]

Did you wanna play with the bubble some more. We'd have to be real careful not to pop it...

[Yes, they can keep playing with the bubble, but in a moment. Look at these adorable floppy ears, she is just going to snuffle at them with her tail wagging before giving his cheek a lick.]

Aah!

[He laughs, snout crinkling.]

H-Hey, that tickles!

[Aha! She found his weakness, and now he will not escape her nuzzling and licking him mooore. At least, not until she backs off.]

Ahahahahahah~!

[Oh my goodness this is so silly. Asriel doesn't flinch or back off, letting the nice dog do as she likes, but he still laughs, flailing uselessly.]

[Okay, okay, after a few seconds, she calms down and pulls back. That tail of hers is still going.]

[He wipes at his face a bit, though that's not going to help much. His fur's going to stick up everywhere and he knows it.]

Golly, you sure are friendly, huh?

[Given her open mouth panting and continuous tail wagging, is she that obvious? She circles around Asriel a few times, but then sits down in front of him as though waiting.]
