[This is what Roland gets for participation, isn't it? Don't ask me silly questions, I won't play silly games. The words are apt enough. Maybe Charlie the Choo Choo was onto something.]

[His first instinct is to say NO. His second instinct is to also say "no." In fact, pretty much all of his instincts are saying that obliging this request is something he really should not do. He can think of six good reasons off the top of his head why letting people look too closely at his hands is a bad idea.]

[So of course, naturally, he haltingly lifts up his right hand and raises a brow, his fingers half-curled as if unsure what to do with themselves.]

I take it you finally noticed.

[Roland does not respond, either to confirm or deny Ford's suspicions. He has a task to complete as per the rules of this game.

He takes the offered hand and lifts it, straightening Ford's arm in the process and tilting the hand so that it's palm-down instead of palm-out. He bends down -- perhaps for the purpose of inspecting the hand more closely, since there's only so high he can lift it toward his face what with his absurd height?

That's probably what it seems like until he presses a light kiss to the back of it, as though Ford is a particularly stubbly lady of the court whose good graces he'd like to be in. It's something he's actually had occasion to do before and so the action comes to him with practiced ease.]
