TEST DRIVE MEME

Hello and welcome to the COSMOGRAPHIA TEST DRIVE MEME! This is a place where you can get a feel for your character(s) in the game's setting! A couple quick points before we get down to business:

☆ Please take a look at our Premise, World Information, and our FAQ to get a feel for the rules and setting. This is great if you want to see what the game is about before jumping in!

☆ Test Drive threads are certainly allowed to be used for samples for your application, should you choose to submit one!

SAMPLE SCENARIOS:

A: By whatever means, you've tumbled through a hole into a cavernous temple. Gems suspended in bubbles float about the ceiling, and a large Heartlike gem looms before you. Touching it, whether out of curiosity or frustration, will give you some basic information, but then again, there's no guarantee you're just going to walk up to a giant weird thing in the middle of a giant weird room and touch it, right? Why not take a look around and see for yourself what kind of place this is? Perhaps you'll run into someone in the same predicament as you, or perhaps you'll run into someone who can help explain why there's a weird rock now affixed to your body?

B: It's Thursday in Waverly Bay, and that can mean only one thing: the weekly Farmer's Market is here again! Stalls not only from farmers on the outskirts of town but from crafty residents with interesting homemade items to sell, and businesses looking to attract the Market's crowd are all here! Are you shopping for a good deal on vegetables for dinner? Or perhaps you're getting a feel for the residents, having recently arrived? Or, perhaps, are you an industrious gem who's looking to set up shop? Either way, you're bound to run into somebody in this bustling, busy place.

C: Uh-oh! Looks like you've run into a monster! Apparently, from what little you've heard, you can shapeshift into things and pull a weapon from your gem, and you have some sort of special power, but maybe you don't know what it is yet, or you're still not used to using it? Guess you're going to have to learn on the job. Don't leave your fellow gems hanging if you see them fighting one of these little guys either! You're going to need each other to take 'em down!

[Marinette couldn't explain what drew her to the hole, but there was no denying the sense of comfort being curled up inside it brought. Despite the strange peace that washed over her, it was with a jarring surprise that she was suddenly pulled out of her peaceful little hovel, the sense of peace quickly replaced with the sense of remembering what gravity was.]

Waaaaaauuoomph!

[Ever the ungraceful one out of her suit, she ended up half-upside down, legs sticking up and her top half tangled on the floor. Thank goodness she was wearing pants, or this would be even more embarrassing. She groaned, cursing her luck as she slowly worked to right herself.]

Ow ow ow... ugh, what gives? [Now right side up, she remains sitting on the ground, legs sticking out a bit to the side and hands resting on her knees. She looks around, confusion clear on her face.]

What is this place? Tikki, do you know where we are?

[The lack of response catches Marinette by surprise, attention immediately drawn to her suddenly-empty purse, devoid of her kwami companion.]

[Adjusting to life here in Waverly Bay had been interesting, to say the least. No kwami, no Miraculous, no parents... but it was nice here, and after sorting out the initial shock of what had happened and why she'd woken up with a mysterious rock embedded in her earlobe, Marinette tried to make the best of it. Meet new people, learn about this strange new world, and try to adapt to life as a... living gem. She was still wrapping her head around that one.]

[Currently, Marinette was thrumming with glee as she made her way through the Farmer's Market. So many things to see, wares to browse through, and smells to enjoy. Clutched in her hands were a couple rolls of colorful, soft fabric that she'd purchased off of one of the vendors, and already the creative juices were flowing with ideas on what to make with her new find. She's so distracted with her good mood and thought process that she might not notice if she bumped into someone.]

[Here he was coming back for a nap only to find himself pausing outside of his room. If he had his cat ears right now, they would've surely twitched at that yell. That sounded like it had come from the Heart Room, and he was curious enough to go see who it might be. Something about the voice had run familiar as it was anyway.]

[He could hear them - her - talking to herself as he got closer, realizing who it had to be just before the door opened. He knew that voice of course, and he approached quietly from behind, holding out a hand to help her stand.]

Are you alright, Marinette? The fall supposedly get everyone.

Baah!!

[Marinette couldn't help the undignified yelp that escaped her, instinctively closing her hands roughly over her purse to snap it shut. Never mind that Tikki wasn't there anymore, but old habits die hard.]

[She looks up at whoever surprised her, and was stunned to see shockingly familiar green eyes and a well-known halo of beautiful blonde hair. She gasped, tongue tying in her mouth.]

A-A-A-Adrien! Ah, w-what are you doing here? Not that it's bad that you're here, I mean, you being around is never bad... I mean! Here! You're here! Ah, obviously you're here! But, uhm... w-where are we?

[...all things considered, that could have gone worse.]

[His eyes widen, but his hand remains out as he just smiles again shortly. No matter the place, Marinette still stutters around him. Maybe... maybe they would have a chance to work past that. They were getting better, but it still happens sometimes.]

It's a place called Waverly Bay... We're kind of not in our world anymore either.

[Yeah, this... might be weird.]

[His hand was still outstretched to her... sheepishly she accepts it, offering him a shy smile as she got up to her feet. But at his words, her expression fell, a look of confusion settling in.]

Huh? Not in our world anymore?

[Helping her up, he nods. Maybe one of them will notice their hands are still together, but not immediately on his end.]

Yeah. It's a little difficult to explain, but you entered a hole shaped like you, right?

Uh, yeah, I did... it was really weird, actually. I can't even remember why I got into it, to be honest.

[She doesn't actually notice right away either, still holding Adrien's hand as they talked.]

That's why...

[He looks past her, and nods his head once towards it.]

That gem over there is called the Heart Gem. Somehow, it's behind those holes in our world and drawing us here so we can help. Though, none of us know what it wants us to help it with.

[She turns to look in the direction he nodded, eyes widening at the large gem.]

Wow! That's amazing...! [She'd never seen anything like it. She takes a minute to marvel at the Heart Gem before turning back to him.]

So wait, that thing brought us all here?

[He nods.]

You would think it's strong enough to sort everything out if it can bring us here, but I guess it can't due to being stuck in this Temple. Then again, it's also turned us into gems, too, but that could be either to keep us from being physically limited, or-- Sorry, maybe I should have brought that up first...

[Everyone responses to becoming... not very human differently.]

[Wait, did she hear that right? Her eyes widen and she looks between him and the big crystal thing.]

Wait, wait... turned us into gems?? What are you talking about?!

Well, about that...

[He turns his right hand over, fingers curled in a way to make his gem appear circular as opposed to its actual paw-shape.]

This... is apparently who I am. Gems here are alive, and the Heart turned us into hybrids. I don't know how else to explain it, but if you touch the Heart, it will show you more of what this place is like.

W-What?? [Marinette stares down at his gem, stunned at the new addition to his palm. She points at it, then at him, then back and forth.]

Wait. You mean you're..? [He was... a rock now? She shakes her head.] But how is that even possible? I mean, I don't--

[She blinks a few times, before she jerks her hands back to look them over (she would have had a mild freak-out over the fact he had been holding her hand, but his information had really surprised her).]

There's nothing on my hands... [Though, her movements had shifted a few strands of hair, revealing a glint of light on her ear lobe that Adrien most definitely would be able to spot.]

I don't get it entirely myself, but... I guess I'm part alien now. It isn't so bad; I'm still me.

[It's a little much. Yeah, he should've figured out a better way to explain this.]

[As she pulls away in search of her own gem, he blinks when a glint catches his attention. Cat reflexes? Partially. Raising his other hand, he gently touches it.]

Looks like yours is here. [That's an interesting location... and color. Huh.]

[Part alien? Did that mean they were all part alien or something? That was just weird...]

[She freezes as he reaches up, eyes wide as she watches his hand move to touch her ear lobe. A blush instantly creeps up on her face and for a moment she's stunned. Positively stunned because Adrien Agreste is touching her ear.]

O-Oh... [No, she isn't mentally prepared to handle this. Someone send help, she's going to die from either embarrassment or from the sheer fact that Adrien Agreste was touching her ear--]

[If he noticed, he doesn't say anything, examining her gem. It's red and black... and kind of looks like his own. It also reminded him of a certain partner he was still missing... Red and black made a surprisingly good color on Marinette now that he sees the gem there.]

[Pulling his hand away, he realizes that she hasn't said anything for a few minutes.]

Sorry. I know it's a lot to take it, but it's not that bad here.

[His words make her snap back to attention, and all at once she shakes her head, leaning back a bit and letting out a nervous giggle.]

N-No, it's alright! I mean, well, it is a lot to take in... but, well, I guess it could be worse?

[She fidgets nervously, reaching up and feeling that gem with her fingers. It was smooth, much like her earrings, but there was no stud or anything to remove it. It was embedded in her flesh, like Adrien's was in his palm.]

[Come to think of it, he's been oddly calm about all of this. She blinks up at him, brows furrowing a bit.]

Um... how did you find out about all this? I mean, did you just wake up hear as well?

... Yeah, it probably could be.

[He pockets his hands because he should keep his hands to himself. Still, someone from home - one of his friends even. He missed greeting Nino in the morning with a fist bump and almost missed Chloe hugging him - almost. She could stop jumping on him, that would be nice.]

[He blinks and immediately rubs the back of his neck. That... ah well...]

Well, I... I've actually been here for over two months.

T-Two months?!

[That is definitely a comical bulging of her eyes and dropping of her jaw. She openly gapes at him, shaking her head.]

B-But how?! That's impossible, I mean, I just saw you today at school!

W-Well, I only disappear from a single point in time in our world that being here is entirely negligible...! [Adrien not helping.]

I mean...! This is another world; it's on its own time.

[Really not helping. She shakes her head, trying to rationalize out what he's saying.]

So... you're saying that this isn't just another world, but another time as well? Ugh, this sounds like one of Alya's comic books...

It kind of is. We can summon weapons from our gems to fight against monsters, and shape shift among other abilities.

Wait, seriously?? [That has Marinette blinking, feeling her ear again and rubbing that stone embedded in her lobe.] So it's like... we're made of magic now?

[...honestly considering she was a miraculous user for the better part of the school year, she's not completely surprised. Magic, man.]

Yeah! It's pretty cool, and the rooms we have here are great, too. They're connected to our gems, and we can change the interior however we want.

Really?

[That actually catches Marinette's interest, and for a minute her mind bursts with creativity. A room designed however she wanted?? Just like that? It really was magic... maybe this place had some charm to it.]
