TEST DRIVE MEME
Hello and welcome to the COSMOGRAPHIA TEST DRIVE MEME! This is a place where you can get a feel for your character(s) in the game's setting! A couple quick points before we get down to business:
☆ Please take a look at our Premise, World Information, and our FAQ to get a feel for the rules and setting. This is great if you want to see what the game is about before jumping in!
☆ Test Drive threads are certainly allowed to be used for samples for your application, should you choose to submit one!
SAMPLE SCENARIOS:
A: By whatever means, you've tumbled through a hole into a cavernous temple. Gems suspended in bubbles float about the ceiling, and a large Heartlike gem looms before you. Touching it, whether out of curiosity or frustration, will give you some basic information, but then again, there's no guarantee you're just going to walk up to a giant weird thing in the middle of a giant weird room and touch it, right? Why not take a look around and see for yourself what kind of place this is? Perhaps you'll run into someone in the same predicament as you, or perhaps you'll run into someone who can help explain why there's a weird rock now affixed to your body?
B: It's Thursday in Waverly Bay, and that can mean only one thing: the weekly Farmer's Market is here again! Stalls not only from farmers on the outskirts of town but from crafty residents with interesting homemade items to sell, and businesses looking to attract the Market's crowd are all here! Are you shopping for a good deal on vegetables for dinner? Or perhaps you're getting a feel for the residents, having recently arrived? Or, perhaps, are you an industrious gem who's looking to set up shop? Either way, you're bound to run into somebody in this bustling, busy place.
C: Uh-oh! Looks like you've run into a monster! Apparently, from what little you've heard, you can shapeshift into things and pull a weapon from your gem, and you have some sort of special power, but maybe you don't know what it is yet, or you're still not used to using it? Guess you're going to have to learn on the job. Don't leave your fellow gems hanging if you see them fighting one of these little guys either! You're going to need each other to take 'em down!

[His discussion of changing his room around at his own whims has her curious about what she could do with her own, but she pauses, excitement sobering a bit.]
U-Uh, as neat as that sounds, is there... any way for us to get back? I mean, what if my parents worry, or school, or...
[Or where Tikki went, or what about her Ladybug duties. But that was something she couldn't exactly blurt out loud.]
no subject
I don't know. That's something you will have to ask one of the other gems - one of the few who have been here longer and arrived the same way.
no subject
[She trails, frowning as she looks down a bit. So he'd been here for two months, and hadn't been able to come home... even though she'd never noticed his absence. This place was truly weird, and being stuck here was intimidating.]
...but, uh, at least we're here together! [A beat, before she backpedals.] I-I mean not together, but um... it's good to have a friendly face, at least?
no subject
[He smiles at her.]
It's been different trying to meet people here... [Nino had been the one to initiate their first conversation at school after all.] Everyone here has been really nice so far.

no subject
[But he would still do it anyway.]

[There's a moment where she pauses, rubbing the back of her head as she fidgets, before smiling pleasantly.]
S-So! Um, you were going to show me to my room? I might as well get used to this place if I'm going to be living here, right?
no subject
... Oh, right. I... if you're ready. You can come back and 'talk' to the Heart about everything that happened before later then.
Follow me. [Turning, he heads to the door nearby - one that held a huge gem in the center. When he approaches, the gem glows and opens to a hallway.]
no subject
[She follows him, sparing a look back at the Heart. Of course, her attention is drawn to the big glowing gem that has suddenly opened a hallway before them.]
Woah... This is incredible!
no subject
[He leads her down the hallways, eyes searching the doors.]
Every door has a gem that matches the room's owner, and it only open to that person. Well, unless you connect rooms with someone else. It's pretty awesome in terms of security, but one downside is that the rooms are not soundproof.
no subject
I take it that "soundproofing" comment comes from experience?
no subject
Actually, I was warned. Though, my gem also... kinda gave me sensitive hearing. Ah... [There was a door holding a gem that matched hers. He walks over to it, and stands beside it, looking at her expectantly.]
no subject
Um... Am I supposed to-- [She cuts herself off as the door's gem glows, and then the door itself slides open.]
no subject
The room does come with some actual furniture while leaving space to build whatever you want. However, anything imagined in the room can't come out so things like food and fabric need to still be purchased in town.
no subject
So I can make anything I want appear inside it?
no subject
Yes. Though, be careful. Too much, and the room actually begins to reach a limit.
no subject
[She turns to face him, but notices he hasn't entered. She flushes a bit.]
O-Oh, you can come in!
no subject
[At her invitation, he finally steps in, having a look around.]
Sorry, I didn't want to invade your personal space.
[Even if it wasn't entirely personal in the true sense of the word.]
no subject
[She waves her hand, smiling sheepishly.]
W-Well, you're hardly invading my personal space! It's not even really all that personal yet.
no subject
[He laughs.]
That's fair enough. I know you'll make it look awesome.
no subject
[His praise still gets to her, and for a moment she brightens, a flush on her face and a wide smile forming.]
A-Ah, thank you! Ah, but I bet your room looks amazing as well.
no subject
Not really... I like changing it around pretty often.
no subject
I was thinking of just making it look like my room, but changing it around could be fun too.
no subject
Your room would be a great start to practice. Then you could try changing it.
no subject
[A nod to him, before looking around the vacant room.]
So, how does this work? Do I just imagine it, or...?
