Hello and welcome to the COSMOGRAPHIA TEST DRIVE MEME! This is a place where you can get a feel for your character(s) in the game's setting! A couple quick points before we get down to business:

☆ Please take a look at our Premise, World Information, and our FAQ to get a feel for the rules and setting. This is great if you want to see what the game is about before jumping in!

☆ Test Drive threads are certainly allowed to be used for samples for your application, should you choose to submit one!

SAMPLE SCENARIOS:

A: By whatever means, you've tumbled through a hole into a cavernous temple. Gems suspended in bubbles float about the ceiling, and a large Heartlike gem looms before you. Touching it, whether out of curiosity or frustration, will give you some basic information, but then again, there's no guarantee you're just going to walk up to a giant weird thing in the middle of a giant weird room and touch it, right? Why not take a look around and see for yourself what kind of place this is? Perhaps you'll run into someone in the same predicament as you, or perhaps you'll run into someone who can help explain why there's a weird rock now affixed to your body?

B: It's Thursday in Waverly Bay, and that can mean only one thing: the weekly Farmer's Market is here again! Stalls not only from farmers on the outskirts of town but from crafty residents with interesting homemade items to sell, and businesses looking to attract the Market's crowd are all here! Are you shopping for a good deal on vegetables for dinner? Or perhaps you're getting a feel for the residents, having recently arrived? Or, perhaps, are you an industrious gem who's looking to set up shop? Either way, you're bound to run into somebody in this bustling, busy place.

C: Uh-oh! Looks like you've run into a monster! Apparently, from what little you've heard, you can shapeshift into things and pull a weapon from your gem, and you have some sort of special power, but maybe you don't know what it is yet, or you're still not used to using it? Guess you're going to have to learn on the job. Don't leave your fellow gems hanging if you see them fighting one of these little guys either! You're going to need each other to take 'em down!

"Thanks."

Uncapping the vial, he took a chug -- and nearly choked. Despite his HP going back up to fill, he hacked and gagged. "Wha... is this...?"

[Chicken Blood] read the description and he made a really impressive face. "Oh god, I'm going to be sick, I should have known...!"

The sound of Leonardo being sick could be heard across the forest as he emptied the pizza he had into the bushes. "I...urk... forgot... bout that about your world... oh god gonna be sick again..."

"Is there something wrong with Chicken Blood?"

[keronardo]

"It... wheeze... isn't usually drunk straight by humans..."

Realizing he's going to have that taste in his mouth for at least a week, Leo resolved to be more cautious on items Priss gives him. "Well... at least my HP is back to full."

"EHHHH!?!"

"YOU'RE A HUMAN?!"

"Well yeah." He vaguely recalled that Humans were a rarity in Disgaea, but he himself had only played the first for a couple of hours.

"I didn't roll a beast-man class, I stuck with a human. I'm still an Adventurer though, a Player Character."

[spear_mint]

"Wait wait wait. Uh."

The party currently consists of: One Valkyrie, wise and experienced in the ways of battle, and...one Human, who is apparently some kind of furry?

When Priss thinks about it that way, it suddenly starts becoming obvious.

"Oh my Devil, am I the Protagonist?!"

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS

"... HUH?"

Of all the weird, crazy...

"I... guess you are the protagonist? I mean, I don't see anyone else stepping up."

[spear_mint]

"Man, I thought just being a story character was enough, but I'm the protagonist, too? Hmm..."

She trails off and thinks for a few moments before continuing.

"No wonder I don't have any unique attacks! They must be plot-locked! C'mon, let's go do a violence and advance the story!"

[keronardo]

"Wait, what again?"

Well if she was so hot on it. And honestly, being a story character... was that because she was a Non-Player Character like Erius, or something else?

"Sure, why not. Lets go grinding. I could use the EXP."

[spear_mint]

VIOLENCE-DOING!

"Woo! Fifty HL says my first unique skill is Star element!"

[keronardo]

Oh yeah, she had her own currency too. "All right. Lets get to it then. Where to? Deeper into the woods?"

[spear_mint]

"I was thinking we'd trawl around in the ocean, but I guess you humans need to breathe, right? So let's hit the woods."

[keronardo]

"Uh, yeah we kinda do. I'm only dressed like a frog, I can't breathe underwater like them." Geez, he forgot that Disgaea demons had like a near 0.00001% encounter rate with humans.

Putting up his mask again, he sighed. "Let's go."

[spear_mint]

"Can frogs breath underwater? Neat."

Hmm.

"Hey, you think there might be frogs in the woods? If we catch them, I could make Frog Sweat Curry!"

DO NOT LET HER MAKE FROG SWEAT CURRY

[keronardo]

Trying not to throw up, Leonardo rubbed his mouth with the intention of forestalling another vomiting session. "Uh yeah um, maybe we'll save that for later. For now let's find some aggressive mobs and take them on."

Cause Frog Sweat Curry sounded like the most horrible thing in the world.

Properly made Frog Sweat Curry affords you like half a million HP, so if it ever comes down it you'll probably eat it with a smile, MMO Guy.

"Okay! Onward!"

[keronardo]

You know what?

... she's probably fucking right about that. Even if his stats only currently went to about 21k in HP.

"Hopefully we'll find some loot, or a treasure chest somewhere this time."

[spear_mint]

"Dibs on Emblems! You can have any shoes, I guess?"

[keronardo]

"I dunno if I'm going to be swapping my gear any time soon, but I'll see what comes up. I'm pretty set for equipment right now."

More or less he was looking for items, or potions or something to add to his inventory. Gold was nice too, but less of a priority.

So like in Elder Tale, he couldn't use his minimap as he tapped the map data. "I guess we'll have to make a map later, if we keep going deeper into this forest. Wish I had scribe."

"Your game needs maps? Sounds old-school. Let's buy some graph paper for you later, 'kay?"

[keronardo]

"Used to not be. When Elder Tale became our reality, up to that point we could just use our minimap. I've just gotten used to drawing maps whenever Kanami decides that going into a dungeon is a good idea." Not to mention it kept him from getting lost in the sewers back in July.

"Only the weird parts are like a game in Elder Tale."

[spear_mint]

"Hmm. Sounds like shoddy work. Let's find your devs at some point and break their legs!"

[keronardo]

"Hey now, they were perfectly fine Devs..." He broke off and held up a hand. "Incoming."

From the underbrush, a huge triffid-like monster burst free as it shot out its vines.

Shit, I was so caught up in talking to her that I didn't even notice...!

With one arm caught by the vine, Leonardo drew his second. "Go for the base!"

"VIOLENCE!"

Roaring out her battle cry, Priss swings her spear at the base of the plant-thing. What a weird Alraune, it doesn't even have a humanoid upper body.
