Um... Calliope said that a John in another timeline made a deal with his denizen, because most of the people in his timeline had died. But in order to make the deal that would allow him to move over to the new timeline, the John and LOWAS from my timeline had to be exploded.

It's nice to know that their death wasn't meaningless, I guess, but...
