Taco Bell? Not my idea. But hey, Sonata liked tacos, so at least I know they're edible. [Though Sonata liking them makes them at least 20% less cool in her book.]

Y'know there's a lot more that's edible out there...

[Sunset smiles. Weird, but she appreciates the gesture all the same.]

They do have tofu tacos, though, right?

[Huh she. Had not thought of that. look have you seen the teeth on the sirens' natural forms those are not herbivore teeth just saying.]

I think so? Or they have salads or something, probably. [Every restaurant carries salads, right?] And if not I'll just get you a soda or something. [Because buying her a Baja Blast at Taco Bell fills both conditions TAKE THAT, ANON]

Okay! I'm not too worried, I know I'm kind of fussy. Everybody laughs at my tomato sandwiches, but...I just can't eat creatures I knew in Equestria.

[She leaps up, disappears in a flash of light, and Daydream Shimmer touches back down. She smooths the back-train of her skirt.]

[She never really looked at it too much for herself before. Everything was happening too fast for that...so she's doing a lot of studying and getting a little embarrassed.]

[She uses her power again, taking her old pony-up form. Her human ears are replaced with horse ears, and there's somehow a long tail at the end of her hair.]

[ She scratches the back of her head. ] I guess somebody wants us to slowdance. They said it's for science.

[Eyebrow-raise. Sunset suspects she knows exactly the kind of science they're talking about, and the idea both interests and scares her.]

Okay then...but before we do this, did anyone tell you what can happen when gems dance? Or is that your experiment?

[ She hesitates, looking carefully at Sunset. ]

... No, they didn't. I asked them what the experiment conditions were!! Whoever-it-was is obviously an extremely unprofessional scientist!

[burningbrighter]

Okay, then I'll leave it to you. Do you want to know the conditions, or do you want a surprise?

[There's a funny sort of smile there. Her stomach's flipping. This is so weird.]

I... I don't know!

[ She actually doesn't. For a scientist, this is weird. ] Is that part of the experiment, too? I don't want to do this the wrong way!

Am I the experiment-ER or the experiment-EE?

We're both the experimentees. It's sort of like...the independent variable is gem dancing, we're the dependent variables, and the measure of our success is our compatibility. And we'll see a big result if we succeed.

A... "big result"?

[ But she does trust Sunset. So she hesitantly gives her a smile. ]

[ She holds out her hand. Dance with me. ]
