So...Fool's Gold bros need to fuse, yes?

And there's hints that Jaune is, like his namesake, kind of holy/light aligned so that power combo could have...dangerous consequences.

That would be really awesome actually. Their fusion should just be an overpowered glass cannon since they're going to be so incredibly unstable.

It'd be a fun experience and probably result in Jaune being a little more cautious about fusion...but still fun. Especially since it probably wouldn't last long but be super badass.

Have you decided on Jaune's gem weapon? Darin's is a chinese dao and I'd love to come up with some wicked combination weapon.

I'm trying to think of a cool concept that would play off of the darkness and light dichotomy! Sorry, I get really into character concept and when I get an idea down, I have an urge to sketch it

Jaune's weapon is a shield -- the shield part of his weapon back home. So to continue the darkness/light thing you could have a weird combination of offense and defense since defense is Jaune's strength.
