Hello and welcome to the COSMOGRAPHIA TEST DRIVE MEME! This is a place where you can get a feel for your character(s) in the game's setting! A couple quick points before we get down to business:

☆ Please take a look at our Premise, World Information, and our FAQ to get a feel for the rules and setting. This is great if you want to see what the game is about before jumping in!

☆ Test Drive threads are certainly allowed to be used for samples for your application, should you choose to submit one!

SAMPLE SCENARIOS:

A: By whatever means, you've tumbled through a hole into a cavernous temple. Gems suspended in bubbles float about the ceiling, and a large Heartlike gem looms before you. Touching it, whether out of curiosity or frustration, will give you some basic information, but then again, there's no guarantee you're just going to walk up to a giant weird thing in the middle of a giant weird room and touch it, right? Why not take a look around and see for yourself what kind of place this is? Perhaps you'll run into someone in the same predicament as you, or perhaps you'll run into someone who can help explain why there's a weird rock now affixed to your body?

B: It's Thursday in Waverly Bay, and that can mean only one thing: the weekly Farmer's Market is here again! Stalls not only from farmers on the outskirts of town but from crafty residents with interesting homemade items to sell, and businesses looking to attract the Market's crowd are all here! Are you shopping for a good deal on vegetables for dinner? Or perhaps you're getting a feel for the residents, having recently arrived? Or, perhaps, are you an industrious gem who's looking to set up shop? Either way, you're bound to run into somebody in this bustling, busy place.

C: Uh-oh! Looks like you've run into a monster! Apparently, from what little you've heard, you can shapeshift into things and pull a weapon from your gem, and you have some sort of special power, but maybe you don't know what it is yet, or you're still not used to using it? Guess you're going to have to learn on the job. Don't leave your fellow gems hanging if you see them fighting one of these little guys either! You're going to need each other to take 'em down!

[From his place on the ground he makes muffled little huffs and whines, like a distressed puppy, before taking Alice's hand]

Owowow... you couldn't at least let me finish first-?!

[The shopkeep just huffs at him as Zeroken rubs his face... suddenly noticing how Alice addressed him, turning red]

U-uhm, just Zeroken is fine... and yeah, I'm okay. Just a scratch-!

Of course. I'm sure a little fall is nothing to the likes of you.

[He's cute, can she keep him?]

That's right! Compared to the foes I've faced in all the Netherworlds this human is like... like ... I dunno... like a fly faced with a hurricane!

You must have plenty of impressive stories.

[Or, at least, funny ones.]

Why don't I buy this, and then we can sit down somewhere and you can tell me all about them?

Wait... really?!

[Omg no one has ever taken him seriously in his entire life]

[Look, he might have something impressive under his belt, and anyway she's after the ears.]

Nonono, I'm totally down with that! Oh, wait, crap- what's YOUR name?

[He's so excited]

[The more excited he gets the more adorable he is.]

Nagi Arisuin, but please, just call me 'Alice'. All my friends do.

Alice. Got it.

[He grins, willing to follow her anywhere at this point]

[Buying the blouse is a quick affair - she murmurs an apology to the shopkeeper for the trouble - and it doesn't take long to find a nice picnic bench to sit down at.]

What's it like to be an Overlord?

[His eyes flick back and forth, obviously nervous... or well, hiding something. It doesn't occur to him that Alice might not even know what an Overlord MEANS, considering that in his universe even humans know that- or well, he assumes. Before coming here he'd never MET one]

Oh well, YOU know-! It's a pretty big deal! I'm the strongest guy on my Netherworld so everyone has to do what I say.

[She has no idea, but that sounds about like what an Overlord would be. Of course, now she's suspicious of him, but she doesn't show it.]

It must be a pretty big responsibility.

[Yeah, this pipsqueak couldn't conquer a clothing booth, let alone a whole world. And proves it even more by looking heartbroken for a second]

Yeah... the Overlord has to protect their world from invaders.... And be so tough that even in the Human World they're scared of them. It's a demon's job to scare humans, after all!

[darknesshermit]

[She sure isn't scared of him.]

You're pretty friendly, for a scary demon.

[He puffs out his cheeks]

That's just 'cuz I'm not trying right now! Once I figure out how this place works I'm totally gonna take it over and make it a Netherworld too! All these strong Gem-people will make really powerful demons once they transform, I bet.

I'm not sure I'd like being a demon too much.

[Can you really turn this cute face into a demon - wait no she'd probably just get cuter.]

Aw, it'll be fine! You'll get really strong. It'll be great.

[It's like he has no context for what he's saying what so ever- why WOULDN'T you wanna be a demon? Everyone he knows is a demon, after all]

[Of course not.]

I'm not sure I could pull off the pointy ears as well as you do.

[...she totally would though.]

Huh?

[He reaches up and prods his own ears, which flick at the stimulation]

So do ALL humans have weird curvy ears like that?

That's right. Yours are quite striking - may I touch one?

[Be bold, Alice.]

Weird... but yeah, I guess? Just don't pull them!

[darknesshermit]

I won't, I promise.

[And she doesn't - it's much closer to petting, with a few scritches behind the ear for good measure.]

[They don't feel TOO different from a human's ears- just more flexible so they can swivel around. When Alice scratches behind them into his hair he makes a happy noise- the 'hair' is very soft and plush, more like fur]

Heh, careful! It kinda tickles.

[Oh my god he's so cute. He gets more scritches for that.]

Tickling's not so bad.
