TEST DRIVE MEME
Hello and welcome to the COSMOGRAPHIA TEST DRIVE MEME! This is a place where you can get a feel for your character(s) in the game's setting! A couple quick points before we get down to business:
☆ Please take a look at our Premise, World Information, and our FAQ to get a feel for the rules and setting. This is great if you want to see what the game is about before jumping in!
☆ Test Drive threads are certainly allowed to be used for samples for your application, should you choose to submit one!
SAMPLE SCENARIOS:
A: By whatever means, you've tumbled through a hole into a cavernous temple. Gems suspended in bubbles float about the ceiling, and a large Heartlike gem looms before you. Touching it, whether out of curiosity or frustration, will give you some basic information, but then again, there's no guarantee you're just going to walk up to a giant weird thing in the middle of a giant weird room and touch it, right? Why not take a look around and see for yourself what kind of place this is? Perhaps you'll run into someone in the same predicament as you, or perhaps you'll run into someone who can help explain why there's a weird rock now affixed to your body?
B: It's Thursday in Waverly Bay, and that can mean only one thing: the weekly Farmer's Market is here again! Stalls not only from farmers on the outskirts of town but from crafty residents with interesting homemade items to sell, and businesses looking to attract the Market's crowd are all here! Are you shopping for a good deal on vegetables for dinner? Or perhaps you're getting a feel for the residents, having recently arrived? Or, perhaps, are you an industrious gem who's looking to set up shop? Either way, you're bound to run into somebody in this bustling, busy place.
C: Uh-oh! Looks like you've run into a monster! Apparently, from what little you've heard, you can shapeshift into things and pull a weapon from your gem, and you have some sort of special power, but maybe you don't know what it is yet, or you're still not used to using it? Guess you're going to have to learn on the job. Don't leave your fellow gems hanging if you see them fighting one of these little guys either! You're going to need each other to take 'em down!

What is it?

Once Rose-- 'Steven' finds out I'm here she's likely to attempt to contact me. I'm not sure I won't kill her if she does.
[Oh boy that's blunt. And Malachite's getting Steven's sex wrong. Who ever heard of males anyway? But the matter-of-fact way she says it also suggests she's not going to go looking for Steven to kill.]
You'd probably like to avoid that, so Steven not finding out for as long as possible is a very good idea.
[It should feel like the fusion's leveling a lethal threat, but somehow Malachite makes it sound like something she'd prefer to avoid.]

I'm his knight. I protect him, always.
no subject
Do any of you ever think before simply reacting? If I wanted to hunt her down and kill her, I wouldn't be telling you about it first.

Would you prefer it if I didn't say anything, you told Steven I was here, and have it end badly without you knowing it would?
no subject
Can you at least tell me why you want to hurt him to begin with?
no subject
[It's REALLY complicated. So much so that she was quite literally of two opinions on the matter and that alone made her very uncomfortable.
But Connie might be more cooperative with more understanding. Maybe.]
Very paraphrased, there's quite a lot of painful things in the lives of the gems I used to be that can be laid directly at the feet of Steven and the Crystal Gems.

I talked to Steven after he met someone called Jasper who had given him a black eye and hurt and imprisoned his friends. If that person was "injured" as a result, I'd say they got what they had coming.
As for Steven, he would hurt a fly. I know that for sure.
no subject
And how would you justify thousands of years of imprisonment and enslavement as a tool for simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time?
no subject
Of course, Steven is also only fourteen, so he's innocent in all of that.
no subject
[The whole Rose dying so Steven could live thing just doesn't happen. He had Rose's gem, he WAS Rose.]
There's no justice in punishing someone who doesn't remember the crime. But part of me still hates him, and I don't know what I ... what we would do given the chance. The chance should be avoided. Do you understand?
[Complicated is an understatement.]
no subject
I do understand though. If you meet him, call me on the network. One of my abilities is super speed, so I'll get him out of your personal space pretty quickly.
no subject
Just one problem.]
... 'Network'?

But the subject has thoroughly ended her desire to keep poking amongst the shops hoping for a watermelon that looked right, and after a moment, Malachite straightens back up to her full not inconsiderable height, dusting herself off a bit.]
I'm going. I have a lot to think about and that's not going to happen here.
[There's a pause before she adds gruffly,]
Thank you for your assistance.
no subject
I...I hope I see you again.

[The temptation for more power was more than she could resist, honestly. Malachite hesitates a moment, as if debating saying something else, but instead turns and picks her way back towards the distant beach. The sea wind would give her more lift.
There's no goodbye, she doesn't really get those.]
