TEST DRIVE MEME
Hello and welcome to the COSMOGRAPHIA TEST DRIVE MEME! This is a place where you can get a feel for your character(s) in the game's setting! A couple quick points before we get down to business:
☆ Please take a look at our Premise, World Information, and our FAQ to get a feel for the rules and setting. This is great if you want to see what the game is about before jumping in!
☆ Test Drive threads are certainly allowed to be used for samples for your application, should you choose to submit one!
SAMPLE SCENARIOS:
A: By whatever means, you've tumbled through a hole into a cavernous temple. Gems suspended in bubbles float about the ceiling, and a large Heartlike gem looms before you. Touching it, whether out of curiosity or frustration, will give you some basic information, but then again, there's no guarantee you're just going to walk up to a giant weird thing in the middle of a giant weird room and touch it, right? Why not take a look around and see for yourself what kind of place this is? Perhaps you'll run into someone in the same predicament as you, or perhaps you'll run into someone who can help explain why there's a weird rock now affixed to your body?
B: It's Thursday in Waverly Bay, and that can mean only one thing: the weekly Farmer's Market is here again! Stalls not only from farmers on the outskirts of town but from crafty residents with interesting homemade items to sell, and businesses looking to attract the Market's crowd are all here! Are you shopping for a good deal on vegetables for dinner? Or perhaps you're getting a feel for the residents, having recently arrived? Or, perhaps, are you an industrious gem who's looking to set up shop? Either way, you're bound to run into somebody in this bustling, busy place.
C: Uh-oh! Looks like you've run into a monster! Apparently, from what little you've heard, you can shapeshift into things and pull a weapon from your gem, and you have some sort of special power, but maybe you don't know what it is yet, or you're still not used to using it? Guess you're going to have to learn on the job. Don't leave your fellow gems hanging if you see them fighting one of these little guys either! You're going to need each other to take 'em down!

Now, he's motioning more wildly at the stone walls and the background lighting.
"Dere is a snack table here, und efferyvun has their own room."
no subject
MORE IMPORTANTLY
"So where do I go to buy weapons?"
no subject
Thoughtful pause. Let it never be said that he doesn't know an opportunity when he sees one.
"But, if hyu need zumtink vith a little more firepower, feel free to look me up."
no subject
"So it's stored away for cutscenes, huh?"
Patting down her body, Priss stops when one hand is on her lower back; apparently her Gem is a chunk of jade on the base of her spine.
"Okay, then, all I need to do is...there!"
With that, she pulls a spear out of her Gem.
"Haha, neat!"
no subject
"Jah, there are plenty ov tings to fight vith them too. Monsters all over."
no subject
Priss hops from foot to foot, spinning her spear.
"Haha, this is an awesome Netherworld!"
no subject
The excitement is infectious, and he led her on towards the door.
"And here you can summon your own room,"
no subject
"I get a room of my own?! I don't just have to stand in a corner somewhere out of the way?!"
no subject
He grinned, summoning his own little grey apartment-style room. He allowed the door to open, then closed it to allow her to try.
"Go on."
no subject
"Raaaar! Gimme a room!"
Is...is that how it's supposed to work?
no subject
"Ah... no. Here, you just have to think about it."
The young man demonstrated again, just by breathing deeply and closing his eyes for a moment. The door opened again to that greyish room before it disappeared.
no subject
Priss eyes narrow as she pulls out her spear again and drops into a stance.
"Gimme a room or I'll stab you!"
The door opens to a ridiculously pink, fluffy room. Priss stares a little bit, her spear vanishing again.
"This is..."
no subject
"Is dis de right room?"
no subject
Priss dives headfirst into the pile of stuffed animals by the door, hugging a plush dog as big as she is and rolling across the floor with a blissful expression.
She has an unexpectedly girlish side to her, it seems.
no subject
"There ve go."
no subject
"Woo-hoo!"
no subject
"Exactly vhat universe are hyu from?"
no subject
Universe = Netherworld, right?
"I work for whoever pays me enough Mana, so...that's Laharl's Netherworld, Veldime, Evil Academy, Hades...uh, did a second shift at Laharl's Netherworld - I gotta find out what it's called one of these days - and I worked at a Pocket Netherworld during the war against Void Dark? So, yeah, I've lived in a bunch of places."
no subject
"That's amazing! Vhat's your name, can you tell me more?"
no subject
no subject
"Virgil Alexandrescu. Hy'm just researching this dimension ve've landed in- yours sounds fascinating."
no subject
Priss takes a few seconds to extricate herself from the pile of plushes and pops to her feet before shaking Virgil's hand.
"Thanks! It's actually a really big place with lots of neat Netherworlds! When I worked in Madame Seraphina's pocket Netherworld we had an entire Rocket Corps dedicated to exploring them, y'know?"
no subject
His handshake was firm but kindly, dependable and very obviously excited.
"Hy do the majority ov my vork on the mechanical or genetic, but this has really caught my interest."
Maybe, just maybe, if he keeps her talking he can sink down onto one of the plushes without feeling too much like an unwelcome guest.
no subject
A pause.
"Well, I think so, anyway, Hades is a little fuzzy for me after the whole A-Virus thing..."
no subject
"Tell me all about it."
