So coming up with new powers to gain in Cosmographia can be pretty hard. Maybe you're fresh out of ideas, and Superpower Wiki isn't giving you any good hits. Thankfully, you're in a game with a bunch of super creative people whose brains you can pick to see what powers they think would be a good match for your character -- and likewise, if you have a neat suggestion for them, you can let them know!

This meme is pretty simple! There's just a few steps;

• Post a toplevel comment with your character. List any current powers they have and any planned trajectory you have in mind for them, power wise or in terms of character growth and development.
• Comment around and people up with powers you think would suit their characters. These can be either silly or serious -- just have fun with it!
• actually now i think about it there's really only two steps uhhh GO WILD I GUESS AND BE MOST EXCELLENT TO EACH OTHER

Jaune Arc | RWBY

Jaune's currently got bubbling down, summoning his shield, and force shields. Shapeshifiting isn't happening yet nor is fusion but they are in the works I think.

As far as next steps -- most of what I have planned from his initial app are support based powers: healing aura and power enhancement. Eventually his force shields will turn into actual force fields -- but that's a bit in development too.

I realized after having him fight some gem monsters though that I don't really have a good offensive ability for him yet. I know eventually I'd like him to be able to upgrade his weapon summoning to involve a sword. But unfortunately RWBY hasn't shown much of Jaune's symblance or powers. He's not the best in combat in canon which is why most of the stuff I thought of was support based.

His namesake is Joan of Arc so something pulling from that wouldn't be bad.

Ah... well, Joan of Arc heard the voice of God and he told her things about battle ahead of time so what if... some kind of precognition?

Jaune setting himself on fire would be both hilarious and terrible

I was actually debating some kind of light-based abilities to go with the "holy" thing I play Kingdom Hearts which is kind of where I got that idea from

Are we allowed those abilities or was it just we can't have Garnet-level "Future Vision". If anything I could always downgrade that to a "Danger Sense" ala Spider-man

Or maybe he's just like the Torch and he has to set himself on fire. It just hurts the first few times or needs an upgrade to stop the pain.

Oh, that could work too. Something like Photon or Judgment...

Hm... I'm not sure. It would be something to ask the mods about. I think "Danger Sense" might be a safe bet though if you wanna do it.

Maybe WAAAAY down the line we can play with Jaune getting set on fire. I think I have some other abilities in mind first.

Danger sense I would probably put on the backburner -- I have a lot of support based ideas for him, so I'd like more abilities that can be offense in nature. But these ideas are helpful!

Sounds good. Well... I can see one of his sword upgrades being maybe a holy blade. Other offensive abilities... Berserker Mode. Though, now I'm just thinking about that part in Volume 2 Epi 12 how he kinda went at that Ursa more wildly swinging than anything.

That could be interesting to play with. :Tb Though I'm not sure if Berserker Mode fits with what I'm thinking for Jaune's progression.

I like the holy blade idea though.

Yeah, no, definitely not. Hm...

Gosh this is hard not knowing his semblance. I definitely think looking into some kind of light-based magic could work. Even if it's like... Hama from Persona, or Holy from FF.

Let's see the Arc family symbol, or his grandfather's anyway, is a double rainbow (wow so intense). If you wanted to go really out there with powers, perhaps you could give him color-based"\ attacks that work something like they do in Undertale?

Alternately, I noticed below you were thinking of something perhaps Holy/Light-based. What if you gave him Solar Beam? Just shoot a beam out of your hand, Jaune. You're now Iron Man. Or X-Ray just without the glasses. XD

It's a double rainbow? I thought it was a crescent moon. I suck.

But honestly rainbow powers would still go along with an eventual light-based power. Since rainbows come from re-fractured light. So that would just help my case more!

You're fine! It looks like a moon too (and he's voiced by a Luna and there's all this moon symbolism in RWBY so it totally would make sense). Apparently they called it a rainbow in one of the commentaries or something, I forget where I heard it, lol.
