So coming up with new powers to gain in Cosmographia can be pretty hard. Maybe you're fresh out of ideas, and Superpower Wiki isn't giving you any good hits. Thankfully, you're in a game with a bunch of super creative people whose brains you can pick to see what powers they think would be a good match for your character -- and likewise, if you have a neat suggestion for them, you can let them know!

This meme is pretty simple! There's just a few steps;

• Post a toplevel comment with your character. List any current powers they have and any planned trajectory you have in mind for them, power wise or in terms of character growth and development.
• Comment around and people up with powers you think would suit their characters. These can be either silly or serious -- just have fun with it!
• actually now i think about it there's really only two steps uhhh GO WILD I GUESS AND BE MOST EXCELLENT TO EACH OTHER

Super Sonico

Sonico's current powerlist! I'm also planning on having her gain a macaron creation power after the January event because LOOK WE KEPT JOKING ABOUT FOOD POWERS AND I HAD TO MAKE IT HAPPEN

Power wise, I'm planning on having Sonico develop along the lines of a protective healer, both physically and emotionally. I want her to slowly gain the power to heal other people and help to improve their emotional and mental state of being too. This'll hopefully tie into the development arc I've got in mind for her, which will have her becoming more confident in herself and her powers as she sees them becoming useful for more than fighting.

I imagine a healing song would suit her better then healing spit or healing tears, but imagine the funny of having her make up songs on the fly just to use her healing magic?

Unlike Sonico, Labrys doesn't have any particular trajectories in terms of power development or a character arc -- I have the most fun with her when I just go with the flow! So really, with Labrys, you can totally go wild with silly or out-there power suggestions.

Since her gem's a Cat's Eye, maybe she could gain some kind of focus or insight-related ability? Like, not necessarily the ability to see her target's weaknesses, per se, but point her in their general direction? Or something that lets her clear her mind and tune out distractions -- again, maybe not completely, but something like... she can zero in on the sounds and movements of her opponent while everything around her is reduced to a sort of 'background noise' level. She's not completely unaware of everything else, but can focus more on her target.

...And since it's a Cat's Eye, maybe using that ability is reflected by having her eyes change in some way, like, oh... slit pupils, or a golden hue...? O-or would that be too unnerving...?

Kaneki Ken

Kaneki's current power list is here! He doesn't have very much yet, just Regeneration, which allows him to rapidly heal from wounds (but not wounds severe enough that they could result in poofing) and Danger Sense, which speaks for itself. He's discovered bubbling, and I want him to discover his other basic abilities eventually, weapon summoning in particular.

I'm not sure what powers I want him to have in the future otherwise yet. Maybe something like enhanced strength/speed? I'm completely open to suggestions, though!

there's a cyoa comic thing on tumblr called rwbyquest where tl;dr one of the characters loses their eyes and develops a different kind of sight to compensate so like. what if kaneki developed a different kind of sight out of his gem-covered eye, some kind of gem-focused sight that allows him to see or pick up certain things about maybe monsters?? or just other gems IDK THIS IS VERY VAGUE but i thought itd be cool

Amethyst

Current Powers:
☆ Weapon Summoning whip : Amethyst can summon up to two thorn covered whips from her gem.

☆ Fusion: Amethyst has the ability to fuse with other gems to take on stronger forms so long as they have compatible personalities and can maintain harmony.

☆ Shapeshifting: Amethyst has a particular talent for shapeshifting her body into other forms including animals and inanimate objects. She particularly loves this power for combat and playing pranks or making dumb jokes.

☆ Spindash: Amethyst can roll into a ball, backing her density tight to hit with powerful force and race along faster then she can run.

☆ Whiplash: Amethyst can channel energy through her whips using it to create an explosive burst at the end of her strike.

Now that she has most of her original powers back it might be time for Amethyst to branch out into other powers I think.

Given her predisposition towards eating non-edible things, maybe Amethyst could develop the ability to portal anything she eats into her room? Sort of like having a hammer-space, only instead of reaching into a pocket she just, y'know. Eats the stuff she wants to keep.

Mettaton

Mettaton's powerlist! So far, he's just incredibly tough thanks to his Increased Durability. Power-wise, I wouldn't mind him gaining some of his abilities from his boss fight in-game, namely being able to weaponize electricity.

Otherwise, he's a blank slate! Development-wise, he's still learning that other people actually have feelings, but there aren't any plans for any specific development yet.

I have one power planned for Remi at the moment, and that's true flight because the laws of physics are being a butt. At the moment, she can only glide.

How her power-ups are planned are listed in the comment. At the moment, thinking about a weapon, but I'm definitely seeing Naomi with more Support Gem abilities. Possibly Teleportation at one point and a few other powers related to her ones in Equestria mainly telekinesis, or a general Psychic coverall with her later ghost abilities coming back as actual power. That, and something related to Empathy or Truth. I wouldn't object to one or two power outside of these ideas.

Maybe she can gain the power to speed herself up temporarily to go with her healing touch style? Like everything appears to slow down around her while she's still moving at regular speed?

Harley Quinn

☆ Shapeshifting: Harley can transform her body into other shapes including animals and objects. She particularly enjoys using it for pranks and changing costumes mid conversation.

☆ Hammerspace: Harley has the ability to store items inside her gem. If someone else were to go inside they would find what appears to be a very cluttered warehouse

☆ Weapon summoning: Harley can summon a mallet from her gem that is roughly as tall as she is. She can also shrink it down to a one handed throwing hammer.

☆ Glitter bombs: Harley can summon up to three bombs a day which cause concussive damage and explode in colorful glitter because that stuff is impossible to get rid off.


With Harley's powers I enjoy the more cartoony nature of some of them, but she's such a silly person she's not gonna shy away from abusing whatever powers she does get for her own amusement.

Minato Arisato

Here's Minato's current powerlist, as well as the planned powers I have for him in the future. Given his association with friendship, all his powers present and future will be based on CR he's had here in Waverly Bay or previously. What will result is an eclectic selection of abilities that lend themselves to many things, but excelling in none, as befitting his status as a Fool.

So, I ask a bit of a twist on the original question: if Minato gets to be friends with your character, what power would they give him?

from Labrys, I think something like being able to summon a bull-like Gem familiar would be SUPER NEAT since that's partially the form her berserk Shadow takes. It'd be all sparky and pretty and made out of or at least look like the kind of cat's eye Labrys has as her Gem.

for Sonico, I think either Animal Communication or some kind of general affinity for animals since. just. gestures to the five cats she has back home in canon

Pyrrha Nikos

Current Powerlist.

The ultimate plan for her is to regain some of her weapons/abilities that she had back in Remnant; being able to change her spear to a short sword and gun, being able to summon her shield as well, etc. While Pyrrha is probably the one on the front lines the most of the characters I have, her powers would probably be balanced among offensive and defensive.

Trixie Lulamoon

☆ Weapon summoning: Guitar She doesn't actually know how to play guitar yet but she'll learn sooner or later.

☆ Fireworks: Trixie can fire colorful fireworks from her crystal horn. Low damage but flashy and distracting.


Trixie will probably need to get her basic telekinesis back next for when she turns back into a unicorn. But other then that I'm wide open to various powers she can use with her usual theatrical flair.

Clearly she needs to suck it up and learn guitar from Rarity who knows piano and most likely Guitar too. Rarity's weapon summoning is her keytar after all.

Gaige

☆ Weapon summoning: Bladed claws that pop from her robot arm.

☆ Electrical manipulation level 1. So basically imagine small bolts of lightning, the ability to recharge car batteries and channeling electricity out of other things to use herself.

Other then upgrading her electrical power, I imagine Gaige would probably want to get back some of the guns she left back at home. At least a shotgun, maybe a rocket launcher. Her favorite things are robots, explosions, electricity and fire. Her firghting style tends to be very aggressive, low on accuracy and high on damage.

Kassan

Right now, all of Kassan's powers are regains of his Pokemon ability and moves. He's unapologetic in who he is, and his powers aren't gonna change much from what he's used to. That may change in time, but for now, he's still a glass cannon that isn't good for much other than combat and messing with people.

Fluttershy

Two powers I have planned for Fluttershy to gain is empathy healing and kindness embodiment, which is just going to be a temporary power up. I also need to see if item regains can come from other games rather than from their home worlds, to see if I can get her her Element of Kindness necklace from MLJ. But Fluttershy's powers are mostly defensive and supportive.

I have a few powers in kind for Robin, but other than those I'm not sure what to give him. I'm thinking maybe some technology-based powers, as well as powers to help with his detective skills? He does need a few more offensive powers too though.

Right now, all Blooky has apart from their incorporeality is acid rain tears + the freebie powers given to everyone (one of which is a chainsaw for their gem weapon)

I'm not really planning for them to get anything big since I want to focus on character interaction over things like powers, so all I have planned so far are the following:

-The creation of harmless gray text that just sort of floats around and annoys people
-Upgrading their tear powers to be able to climb up objects, similar to their "tears of doom" if you choose to beat them up in canon
-Upgrading the tears to also be able to form clothing only Napstablook can wear, because we need Dapper Blook

I am ALL for joke powers or powers that can be used to mess with people as well.

I'm planning on him regaining the same abilities as shown in his boss battle: the magic bones, more powerful telekinesis, and his very famous blasters. Basically, primarily offensive, given how good at dodging he already is.

Alice is brand new and I need to have her discover her existing powers to begin with, but she's been running around studying everything in sight and also just trying to find a way to make a living, much less beat up gem monsters.

I kind of want to figure out how I want her analysis powers to even work, since I've never used them ICly and tbh I kind of think I could retcon it since it might border on infomodding? If I'm keeping it, I think I might limit it to only being useful on NPC enemy monsters and either not working or giving completely useless but hilarious info on player characters.

As for a planned trajectory: focusing more on support/messing with people powers since I don't think she'd be very useful in combat outside of a fusion, although more utility-focused powers (like hammerspace) would be nice? She also has her Ampharos, although that's depowered.

Adachi's power list. In the future I will probably be giving him a fog upgrade (that will likely be his holiday freebie I'm thinking) and also upgrade his shadows so they can transmogrify their forms (into stuff like this, this, this, etc) After that though... /shrug

Also he hasn't discovered his weapon yet (idk if he ever will honestly) but I'm still kind of stuck on making it something like a rifle (i.e. something he'd want to learn up and down) or something like his persona's giant fuck off sword/polearm thing, which his baby arms will barely be able to handle. :V

All I've really been doing is letting him reclaim his powers from PQ but if you all have suggestions for different sorts of power, I'm all ears.

Kanami's power list. Not a whole lot yet!

I'm planning to have her grow into a navigator/support type like Rise and Fuuka in Persona proper, so eventually she'll get things like area scanning become the scout/map character and ability to sense enemy presences etc. Also ribbons eventually because I am a BAD PERSON and hopefully some of Rise's later abilities from P4G (like taking hits for the party or providing buffs from afar).

Don't want to do anything offensive with her at all. In fact I'm debating making her "weapon" just something that broadcasts her powers or makes things clearer for her, like her visor in her idol costume or a headset.

I actually don't even have any suggestions except that the "broadcasting" weapon is a pretty great idea for a fully-support based character.

And I'm planning on Rise developing into a balance support/offense character for Reasons, so just... imagine these two running support together or Kanami playing support for Rise while she goes to fight for once...

Oh. And magical girl transformation into her idol appearance. This has to be a thing. Maybe for both of them.

SONiKA

SONiKA's current power list! She also is getting a music-based powerup but I'm still working out the kinks.

My general thought is to give her debuff/damage over time type magical music revolving around her songs.

Other things I'd like to incorporate:

* Possibly figure out some crippling status effects related to Aisenma and Repeat as well, but I haven't decided what exactly they would be. (Maybe even some for Biohazard?)

* Weapon upgrades! Her basic weapon is 1-handed guns, but I don't have anything specific in mind for how they are as gem weapons, or how to make them better.

* Something to do with communication? SONiKA was an omniglot in her old game (as a nod to VOCALOID Sonika's unique phonemes that allowed her to sing in any language.)

* Something to do with flowers, since she has a sakura fubuki tattoo and her Sburb sprite was a sunflower?

(FAILING ALL OF THAT, you could just come here and give me ideas for silly things to make using alchemy!?)

Other than regaining her wand's spells I don't have many completely new powers planned for her yet! I was thinking maybe teleporting through portals, based on the dimensional scissors? Suggestions would be fantastic!

Roland Deschain

So far Roland just has:

- The freebie powers
- Empathy, which works better on people he knows better and manifests the emotions as the sensation they produce (so anger is heat and a tightening of the throat, fear is a chill and hairs standing up, etc).
- Present Vision, which allows him to see things happening elsewhere right at that very moment. He can't control it, it just sort of hits him with visions, and it's confined to things that directly concern him (or will later).

I also have body-sharing planned later. He'll be able to 'stowaway' in other people, communicate with them as a tiny voice in their head, and eventually take control of their body if they allow it or he can overpower them. Other than that my general idea for his powers are ones centered around tactics and reading people, to cater to strengths he already has. Joke powers also accepted and encouraged (believe me I have been considering a peyote trip power. No idea what it'd do but it's a joke I wanna make somehow considering not halfway through book one he's high as a kite and getting hype about trees.) Also considering plant control but only roses, that won't be grimly ironic at aaaaaall. Or maybe dream sharing? The ability to create doors to other places around the town for quick travel (or like a Howl deal, where he can make doors open to any other doorway he wants?) There's a LOT of shit in Dark Tower that would make cool gem powers.

okay so. you know adachi's lil shadow babies that follow him around and are just generally the worker bees to his queen bee and there's all that hivemind shit going on. i just keep imagining the same thing for roland but instead of cute squishy shadows he gets big sharp gem lobsters and they love him and follow him everywhere and it's a complete mess
