So you know those wonderful bits of canon that you'd love to see other characters react to, but you can't, either because your character doesn't remember, doesn't know, or would never talk about it? Time to fix that.

Directions:

The whole situation was pretty out of control. None of it was your fault. Hell, when you think about it it's bullshit that your death stuck in the first place, given that things were quite literally out of your control? I mean, it's not like... you were actually the one doing those things. You don't even remember doing them.

I dunno. Conditional immortality's not really all it's cracked up to be.

Long story short, we played this video game that basically caused the end of the world and ruined everything forever.

Yeah, well. My life's kind of a nonstop marathon of ridiculous shit that'd make the dumbest movie you can think of seem downright understated in comparison. At some point you just stop questioning shit and start rolling with the punches.

[This seems fair enough. He'd known both Dave and Karkat in Mayfield, but he had never known they knew each other, freakishly enough.]

Knew three of them in Mayfield. Others were named Feferi and Vriska. Karkat was the one I ended up talking to the most though.

We kind of got into this pattern of talking, he'd whine at me, I'd whine back, we'd march off, we'd talk again. Dude was alright though, aside from his weird romance crap.

Never met the other two. From everything I heard about Vriska, though, I got the feeling she wasn't the type you wanted to run into or spend time with. Sorry you had to deal with her.

That's a pretty legit assessment of Karkat, though. Really what you've gotta do is keep him as far away from the topic of romance as is theoretically possible, because the guy hasn't got a clue how to rein it in when it comes to quadrant talk, and he has the most embarrasingly godawful taste in romcoms of anybody I've ever met.

Never had to watch movies with the guy, and he was surprisingly talkable to when he wasn't emotionally devastated or, yeah, talking about romance, which was often. When prom came around, which the town just turned into an open dance and party, he demanded everyone should go because it was clearly an important romantic thing for humans, and he was more interested in making sure I wasn't actually in love or flushed or whatever with my best friend when the town mind controlled us into kissing on Valentine's day, when really what I wanted was some advice on how to avoid his girlfriend setting me on fire.

Yeah, that sounds like him alright. Always trying to make things weird with his shipping grids and tendency to overthink the shit out of human relationships by applying his troll romance concepts to 'em.

He landed himself a girlfriend? What was she like?

Naw naw dude, I meant my best friend's girlfriend setting me on fire. I think he did have a girlfriend though, I never met her, since he crashed pretty hard on the romance thing after she was gone.

...He didn't take it well, considering he was talking about how he was going to just give up on even thinking there was hope anymore.
