It'd be less so anywhere else - humans lie - but here, where new Gems pop out of the walls, Mewtwo's worries hang mostly on whether someone might be as lost and confused and agitated as it was when it arrived - it absolutely would have taken a mysterious figure for an enemy - and physically stronger than it to boot. It doesn't help that it can't seem to reach any of the powers it'd normally use to not just defend itself, but blow any enemy away. It's not used to being...defenseless.
It reacts immediately to Shinjiro talking at it, first lifting its head attentively as he begins to speak, then slowly straightening up out of the wary crouch, tail unfreezing and swishing slowly along the ground.
Its stare takes on a less whale-eyed quality and something more carefully curious, the Pokemon appearing to examine Shinjiro now rather than just watching him for movement...]
