[He can barely remember anything. He thought he had been talking to-
-who was he talking to? Someone important, certainly. She had been crying. Screaming. Reaching out with one small hand to him. Begging him to come to her. She looked so much like-
-but everything after that was just static and pain. A feeling of his guts dropping. He knew that feeling well, he dreamed often of falling.
Then there was the hole.
He had to get to the hole, but he couldn't move right. Even breathing hurt. And something... something else was demanding he get up- but unlike the hole, which felt safe, this was like fish hooks in his mind and his joints, yanking and tugging even while his body screamed in agony. He couldn't get up, but he was going to get up regardless if these strings of pure pain had anything to say about it. They were blanking what was left of his mind and soon there'd be nothing to resist what they wanted.
And well, Takumi was a stubborn man, certainly. So instead of sleeping he gripped at the ground, yanking out grass as he pulled himself. A few feet were like miles but the hole was right there it was RIGHT THERE an-
Someone spilled out of one the of Heart Gem room holes. But any chance to see who they were was quickly lost as their body glowed and returned to light, poofing back into their gem. The stone clattered across the floor with the remaining momentum, skidding to a stop against someone's feet.]
Combat
[He had been there for awhile now, and it was... refreshing. His mind felt like his own again for the first time in awhile. No headaches, no pain. Takumi wanted to get back of course, now that his body was healed- he couldn't leave his family to fight this war alone.
But there seemed to be no way to do so. The Heart wanted peace restored to this land. So he just had to have faith in his siblings and do what he could to do that until he could return. He just wasn't sure what he was going to do when he got back. Her eyes haunted his attempts to sleep- he was glad Gems apparently didn't need it. Better to spend those late nights training. And fighting, apparently.
The beast was on the beach, having slithered out of the sea while Takumi had been tossing stones. Now he was facing off with it, his bow (not the Fujin Yumi, but it sure FELT like the sacred weapon) drawn and an arrow of pure energy nocked. The gem set in the back of his neck glowed softly, visible in glimpses as his hair swayed.
He was fine taking this thing down alone, certainly. After all, who even else would be up this late at night?]
