Ever want to know how Roland lost his fingers?
AKA: Why Roland Deschain can never eat lobster again.
While in the middle of dying from lobster-borne infection, Roland takes a moment to get really excited about Pepsi products and nearly choke himself to death on an ice cube.
While on a trip to New York and borrowing the body of a man in a blue suit, Roland Deschain robs a drug store at gunpoint and then
pays
at gunpoint.
It's hard to find antibiotics in the wilderness in his universe, okay, and he was dying of lobster.
Roland cries on his new best friend in a very not-gay-at-all sort of way.
Roland rescues his adoptive son Jake from a demon by throwing another demon at it.
This neatly fixes the problem he was having where he was going slowly insane thanks to a time paradox (Jake was dead in one timeline, alive in another) by making the kid Definitely Alive and not Schrodinger's Son.
And of course, a classic:
Old Man Yells at Sentient Train
.
