[He should have figured there'd be a drawback to glowing hands outside of the sheer strangeness of the gesture. Boyce bares his teeth when she lays one burning hand over his side, and the smell of seared wool and cauterized flesh attests to the fact that even if his body is now a projected hologram--which he is and will probably for some time have deep, lingering doubts about--it does a very good job of acting just like real flesh. The silver blood blackens under her touch as though corroded by heat, and it's only when the soothing effect kicks in that Boyce moves from his rictus of unexpected pain.

He wobbles then, moving drunkenly to the nearest pillar to support himself... and there he sags for a moment or two, trying to regulate his breathing and shake the shock of it all.]


You could warn a man. [of course this is probably fair turn-about, considering his earlier accidental release of the corrupted gem.]
